Syracuse basketball’s summer recruiting trail wound through three major shoe circuits over the final live period, and the Orange staff left behind a long list of targets across the 2027 and 2028 classes.
At Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., Syracuse coaches were on hand for multiple prospects, including some of the biggest names in the cycle. The Orange also had eyes on players at the Adidas 3SSB event in Rock Hill, S.C., and may have been tracking targets at the Under Armour Association stop in Louisville, Ky., though it’s unclear whether Syracuse coaches were actually at the UAA tournament.
One of the clearest takes from the weekend: Syracuse was active, and the staff led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara was watching a wide range of high-end talent.
On the Nike EYBL side, Team Takeover’s 17U group was one of the programs Syracuse followed closely. The Washington, D.C.-based squad didn’t reach Peach Jam, but it did play in the Peach Invitational Tournament.
J’Lon Lyons, a 2027 four-star point guard and a priority recruit for Syracuse in this class, is scheduled to take an official visit to the Orange in mid-September. Xavier Skipworth, a 2028 five-star wing, has also drawn interest from the new staff after previously landing an offer from the former Syracuse staff under Adrian Autry.
McNamara was also present for a Nightrydas Elite game when 2027 five-star center Lewis Uvwo turned in a big performance. Uvwo, a top-10 national prospect, already holds a Syracuse offer, and the Orange will be hoping to get him to campus for a visit at some point.
Another EYBL program that drew Syracuse attention was the Bronx-based PSA Cardinals. The Orange watched 2027 five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko, who appears to be a priority target for Syracuse in the senior class. Also on the radar there is 2028 three-star wing Enmanuel Valera Melo.
Syracuse coaches were in for at least one game involving PSA’s 16U team as well. That group includes two players with Syracuse offers: 2028 five-star wing Kevin Wheatley Jr., who took an unofficial visit to Syracuse last December, and 2028 three-star power forward Damian Mojica, who unofficially visited the Orange in late June.
Inside the Loud House first reported that visit. Syracuse has also shown interest in 2028 four-star point guard Malik Moore and 2028 guard/wing Kingsley Rogers.
Team Final’s 16U squad, which won the Peach Jam title on Sunday, was another program Syracuse watched during the live period. Three prospects on that roster already hold Syracuse offers: 2028 five-star center Logan Chwastyk, 2028 four-star combo guard Rowan Phillips and 2028 four-star combo guard Carter Smith.
There were likely more Orange targets at Peach Jam, too. Among the names Syracuse may have seen are 2027 four-star power forward Ian Condon of Baltimore-based Team Melo; 2028 five-star wing Mason Collins of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Team CP3; 2028 five-star wing/small forward Will Brunson of New York City-based Renaissance Hoops; 2027 four-star small forward Carson Crawford of Orlando, Fla.-based Florida Rebels; 2027 four-star shooting guard RJ Moore of Memphis, Tenn.-based Team Thad; and 2027 four-star point guard Devin Cleveland of St. Louis-based Bradley Beal Elite.
Condon is set for an official visit to Syracuse in early September.
On the Adidas 3SSB circuit, Syracuse may have watched several more prospects as the live period wrapped up. The list includes 2028 four-star guard Ka'Shawn Gill of Milwaukee-based Power 5; 2027 five-star wing/forward Ahmed Nur, also of Power 5; 2027 four-star wing Markus Kerr of Raleigh, N.C.-based Garner Road; and 2028 guard Malachi Odugbela of Boston-based BABC.
Nur is a priority target for Syracuse in 2027 and is scheduled to take an official visit in late August. The Orange offered Gill in the past week, while Kerr and Odugbela are being evaluated by the staff.

Seven former Syracuse players spent part of the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, giving Orange fans a scattered but useful look at where a handful of recent alumni stand in the pro pipeline. William Kyle, Nate Kingz, Buddy Boeheim, Jesse Edwards, Chris Bell, Quadir Copeland and Maliq Brown all logged minutes across multiple games, and the results ranged from quiet cameos to stretches that suggested there is still some NBA-level intrigue in the group.
For Syracuse, the bigger takeaway is less about one hot night than about how hard the final roster climb remains for most of these players. The Vegas run offered a snapshot of who can hang, who needs more polish and who may have done enough to keep his name in the conversation a little longer, with Brown still the most interesting case to watch as teams sort through the last openings before Opening Night.
