The 2026 NBA Summer League is rolling in Las Vegas, and a familiar Syracuse flavor is all over it. At least seven former Orange players are in the mix from July 9 to July 19, giving fans a fresh look at a group that includes names from last season’s 15-17 Syracuse team as well as other ex-‘Cuse standouts.
Among the former Syracuse players on the floor are center William Kyle III and wing Nate Kingz, both from that most recent roster, plus Buddy Boeheim, Jesse Edwards, Maliq Brown, Chris Bell and Quadir Copeland.
Kyle got his first run with the Los Angeles Lakers and chipped in 9 minutes, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal as the Lakers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 96-84.
Kingz was listed as did not play, coach's decision, in Miami’s 119-86 win over Milwaukee.
Boeheim logged the biggest scoring night of the Syracuse group in Game One, finishing with 8 points in 23 minutes for Oklahoma City. He shot 2-of-8 from the field and 2-of-7 from 3-point land, while adding 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in the Thunder’s loss to the Lakers.
Edwards saw 10 minutes for Milwaukee and made his lone shot, finishing with 2 points, 1 assist and 1 block in the Bucks’ defeat to Miami.
Brown turned in a busy all-around line for San Antonio, even if the Spurs were blown out by Atlanta, 93-66. He played 22 minutes and posted 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals while going 0-of-2 from the field and 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.
Bell’s first game with New Orleans was brief. He played 7 minutes, missed both of his attempts from beyond the arc and recorded 1 steal in the Pelicans’ 105-92 loss to Minnesota.
Copeland had the most complete stat line of the group, helping Houston knock off Denver, 97-86. In 30 minutes, he went 4-of-6 from the field, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
The next wave of Summer League games includes Miami against Orlando at 3:30 pm EST on Prime Video, New Orleans against Charlotte at 4:00 pm EST on ESPN, New York against San Antonio at 6:00 pm EST on ESPN, Houston against Toronto at 9:30 pm EST on Prime Video and the Lakers against Dallas at 10:00 pm EST on ESPN.

Syracuse Just Hit Another Big 2027 Recruiting Moment Up Front
Syracuses 2027 recruiting board up front keeps getting more interesting, and Ian Condon is right in the middle of it. The four-star power forward has already picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange, and he has now set an official visit to campus for Sept. 1-2, a sign that the staff wants to keep pressing on a player it views as a major target in the class.
Condons profile has only grown as other programs have joined the chase, giving Syracuse plenty of competition for a prospect who has been productive in both AAU and high school settings. The Orange are also tracking other priority names in the 2027 group, so this visit matters not just as a standalone trip but as part of a broader push to build momentum early with the frontcourt board. Syracuse Is Already Eyeing A Rising 2028 Guard Fans Should Watch
Since the June 15 opening of the 2028 college basketball contact period, Syracuses staff has been active on the trail for a rising junior at St. Andrews School, with head coach Gerry McNamara and company already in touch with a 6-foot-6 guard who has been drawing attention beyond Central New York. Providence and Saint Louis are also in the mix, and the early interest fits the profile of a player whose spring and summer performances have started to turn heads in AAU and school competition.
The recruiting picture is still taking shape, but the momentum is obvious. Syracuse is among several programs tracking a prospect who already has multiple scholarship offers and is coming off a strong stretch of play, the kind that can push a young guard from a name to know into a national conversation if the production keeps building. Syracuse Big Man Target Is Changing The Conversation Fast
Ian Condons name is starting to carry real weight in the 2027 class, and Syracuse has reason to keep watching closely. The big man has been turning heads on the Nike EYBL circuit with Team Melo, where college coaches have had a chance to see how his skill set translates against high-level competition. Add in his work at Sidwell Friends School and a national ranking from 247Sports that already has him inside the top 100, and it is easy to see why his stock is moving.
What makes Condon especially interesting for Syracuse is not just the production, but the sense that there may be more coming. He has already put himself on the radar of multiple programs, and recent showings have only strengthened the idea that his ranking could keep climbing as evaluators get another look. For a staff tracking frontcourt options in the 2027 class, this is the kind of recruitment that can change quickly, and Condon may not stay in the same spot for long. [Read more 🡒]
