Michael Wilson delivered the biggest Stanford-connected moment of Week Eight, and he did it with the game hanging by a thread.
Down 30-27 with six seconds left in regulation at AT&T Stadium, the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver slipped behind the Dallas defense in the back of the end zone and hauled in a 13-yard touchdown to tie the game at 30. The play came immediately after a 27-yard catch that moved Arizona to the Dallas 13-yard line. The Cardinals then finished off a 33-30 overtime win.
Wilson ended the day with eight catches for 111 yards and that touchdown on 15 targets, a season high for the fourth-year receiver. He also added a 17-yard rush in overtime that pushed Arizona into Dallas territory and helped set up the game-winning field goal.
Playing through two broken ribs, Wilson has 486 receiving yards and two touchdown catches halfway through the season. Arizona is 3-5.
Another Stanford alum made a smaller but still notable mark in that same Cardinals win. Simi Fehoko ’22 caught his first pass in an Arizona uniform, a 17-yarder against Dallas.
Elsewhere, Bobby Okereke ’18 turned in a solid outing for Carolina despite the result. The linebacker recorded five tackles and recovered a fumble in Thursday’s 27-19 loss at Green Bay.
His recovery shut down a Packers drive in the second quarter while the Panthers were ahead 10-6. Carolina has now dropped two straight, but the team still sits first in the NFC South at 3-4.
Tanner McKee ’24 had a rougher night in Washington. The Eagles quarterback threw for 212 yards and an interception in Philadelphia’s 27-10 loss, and the defeat extended the team’s skid to six games.
McKee has now lost all three of his starts, and Philadelphia is 2-6. He has been benched in favor of Joe Milton, who was acquired off the Cowboys’ practice squad in October.
Elic Ayomanor ’26 also found himself in a tight one, catching three passes for 34 yards in Tennessee’s 43-36 overtime loss at Cincinnati. The Titans fell to 1-7.
Several other Stanford alumni, including San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, were on bye in Week Eight.

Week 9 in the ACC offered another reminder that the quarterback race in this league is getting crowded in a hurry, with standout performances reshaping the conversation heading into the final stretch. Steve Angeli helped Syracuse pull off an upset of SMU, while the Stanford-Louisville game turned into one of the weekends more productive passing showcases, the kind of outing that keeps a quarterback in the mix even in a loss.
Stanford now heads into its second bye before opening the final quarter of its season on the road against Virginia Tech, and the broader ACC picture only gets more interesting from there. With Week 10 bringing matchups like Virginia Tech-SMU and Miami-Notre Dame, the leagues top quarterbacks remain front and center in national discussion, and the latest rankings reflect just how much recent play has mattered in sorting out the pecking order.
