Among the standout names on the roster, eight of the Cardinals' top 30 prospects are starting the season in Memphis. Outfielder Joshua Baez, ranked No. 4 in the Cardinals system, leads the pack.
He's joined by catcher Leo Bernal (No. 6), left-handed pitcher Quinn Mathews (No. 7), and catcher Jimmy Crooks (No. 8).
Pitchers Tink Hence (No. 15) and Brycen Mautz (No. 21), along with right-hander Luis Gastelum (No. 22) and infielder Blaze Jordan (No. 27), round out this promising group.
Baez and Bernal also make their mark on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospect list, coming in at No. 87 and No. 98, respectively. This highlights their potential to make a significant impact not just in Memphis, but eventually in St. Louis.
The Redbirds' roster is a blend of experience and fresh talent, featuring 16 players returning from the 2025 season and 18 who have previously donned a Redbirds uniform. Eleven players are also part of the Cardinals' 40-man roster, including pitchers Gordon Graceffo, Richard Fitts, Ryan Fernandez, and Nick Raquet, alongside infielders Bryan Torres and Cesar Prieto.
As the Redbirds prepare for their home opener against the Norfolk Tides on March 31, fans can look forward to seeing a rotation that includes Richard Fitts, Bruce Zimmermann, and Brycen Mautz. With the possibility of St. Louis rehabbing pitcher Hunter Dobbins starting the home opener, there's an added layer of intrigue for fans eager to see how these pitchers develop.
The Memphis roster also features several players starting the season on the injured or inactive lists, including notable prospects like left-handed pitcher Ixan Henderson and right-handed pitcher Tekoah Roby. These players will be ones to watch as they work their way back to the field.
