Robert Thomas Sends Concerning Message After Blues Loss

Blues' playoff hopes dim as Robert Thomas voices concern after narrow loss to Kings.

The St. Louis Blues find themselves in a fierce battle for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot after a rocky start to the season.

As the games dwindle, every point counts, and their recent clash with the Los Angeles Kings was a crucial one. Unfortunately for the Blues, things didn't pan out as they hoped.

Robert Thomas was the lone goal-scorer for St. Louis in their road game against the Kings.

But it was Kings forward Trevor Moore who sealed the deal, netting the game-winner just under two minutes into overtime. This victory allowed Los Angeles to claim the final West Wild Card spot outright.

Reflecting on the loss, Thomas expressed the team’s frustration, saying, “Yeah, we’re disappointed. These last two games, we felt like we really needed to get some wins and haven’t been able to do it, so obviously disappointing.”

Despite their recent setbacks, the Blues have shown resilience since the NHL Trade Deadline, winning 10 of their last 15 games. However, dropping two consecutive games to direct playoff rivals has put them in a tough spot.

Earning a point against the Kings was a small consolation, but as Thomas highlighted, the Blues need to start turning those into wins. With just eight games left, St. Louis trails Los Angeles by four points, and neither team has games in hand.

As the regular season enters its final stretch, the playoff race is intensifying. The Blues are determined to finish strong, but they'll need to elevate their game. Next up, they continue their West Coast swing with a challenging matchup against the Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
