Blues Win Over Dallas Came With Two Alarming Twists

In a clash marked by injuries and ejections, the St. Louis Blues ultimately secured a decisive 4-0 victory over the Dallas Stars.

The Blues got a 4-0 win over the Stars on Friday, but the night came with a pair of injury-related and discipline-driven developments that changed the feel of the game.

St. Louis forward Alexey Toropchenko exited with an undisclosed injury after taking a hard sequence of contact in the second period.

The play started when he helped break up a Dallas scoring chance, then turned when he went after a loose puck behind the Blues’ net and was hit simultaneously by two Stars players. Toropchenko logged 5:08 of ice time, recorded one hit, and did not return.

The 27-year-old winger has just wrapped up the 2025-26 campaign with four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 65 regular-season games. In his sixth NHL season, the 6-foot-6 Russian forward has totaled 34 goals and 37 assists for 71 points in 325 career games. Back in January 2026, he agreed to a two-year extension worth an average annual value of $2.5 million.

Later, Blues defenseman Brandon Carlo was tossed with a game misconduct after a knee-on-knee hit on Stars forward Roope Hintz. Hintz was trying to corral a pass that had gotten away from him and attempted to avoid Carlo, but the contact still landed knee-to-knee and sent him to the ice. Hintz needed help getting off the ice before eventually returning.

Carlo finished with one hit, one blocked shot and 15 penalty minutes in 15:27 of ice time. Hintz had two hits in 16:57.

Carlo is coming off a 2025-26 season split between St. Louis and the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he had seven assists in 55 games while averaging 19:21 of ice time. Across 11 NHL seasons, the 29-year-old has 29 goals and 90 assists for 119 points in 692 career regular-season games with the Blues, Leafs and Boston Bruins.

Hintz finished 2025-26 with 15 goals and 29 assists for 44 points in 53 games. Now in his eighth NHL season, he has 190 goals and 231 assists for 421 points in 521 career games.

Blues Fans Need To Know Where This Season Will Really Air

As the Blues continue shaping the 2026-27 roster with new additions and Joel Hofer set to take over in goal, there is another part of the season preview fans need to sort out: where the games will actually be available. The broadcast setup is increasingly tied to the teams own Blue Note+ channel, which has become a central piece of how St. Louis supporters will follow the club night after night.

For fans trying to keep up from home, the key is knowing how that channel fits into the broader TV package. Blue Note+ will be available regionally through Fubos My Local Sports add-on, giving viewers a streaming route to the local telecasts while also placing the Blues within a service that carries NHL Center Ice. It is the kind of wrinkle that matters long before puck drop, especially for a season where availability could shape how closely fans stay connected. [Read more 🡒]
