The Blues’ prospect pipeline had no shortage of action from Oct. 12-18, with goals, assists and a few firsts sprinkled across every level.
In the NHL, Adam Jiříček finally got on the board for the first time, scoring in the 7-2 rout of Ottawa. Through eight NHL games, the rookie has one goal and no assists, but the early returns have been strong enough to suggest plenty more is coming. He finished the week with a goal in three games and looked composed throughout, showing the kind of flashes that hint at a top-pairing defenseman down the road.
The AHL group kept things moving too, and Aleksanteri Kaskimäki was one of the weekend’s busiest point producers. He had two assists in Friday’s 6-3 loss, giving him seven points in six games on the season. The Blues recalled him over the weekend, and he looks to be rounding into a player who can help in multiple ways when his name gets called.
Justin Carbonneau also chipped in offensively for Springfield, scoring on a 5-on-3 power play with a one-timer from the left circle in that same 6-3 loss to Lehigh Valley. It cut the deficit to 4-2, and while he was held off the scoresheet on Saturday, he has continued to look like one of the Thunderbirds’ most dangerous options.
Otto Stenberg, another Blues recall, picked up one assist over the weekend and has four points in six AHL games. Jakub Stancl added his first AHL goal of the season against Lehigh Valley and now has two points in six games as he continues shifting from the wing to center under head coach Steve Ott.
Springfield also got steady contributions on the blue line. Marc-Andre Gaudet posted assists in back-to-back games against Lehigh Valley and has been filling a top-pair role alongside Calle Rosen. Arseni Koromyslov earned his first AHL point with an assist and has otherwise done what he does best: keep things simple, stay steady and make sound reads when play gets messy.
Across the NCAA, Tynan Lawrence kept building on his strong start. He had a goal and an assist in two games, bringing his season line to five points in four games.
Lawrence continues to show poise and patience as he settles into college hockey, and even with the season still very young, he sits 47th in points and could climb quickly. Tomas Mrsic picked up one assist for Colorado College and is working from a third-line wing role after a quieter NCAA start than he’d hoped for.
Landon Nycz also got on the scoresheet for the first time this season, assisting in UMass’ 4-1 win over Northwestern University.
There was movement in junior hockey as well. Colin Fitzgerald has turned into a fixture on the Soo Greyhounds’ top line, piling up five goals and 11 points in 11 games after a three-point week.
He scored twice in a 5-4 overtime win at Niagara and added two assists in a 3-1 win at Erie. Carter Stevens added a goal for St.
Louis’ 2026 fifth-round pick, pushing his season totals to four goals and eight points in 11 OHL games.
In the KHL, Mikhail Fyodorov finally found the net for the first time this season. He scored and added another point over two games, bringing him to four points in 16 contests.

Blues Loss Exposed Two Problems Fans Are Tired Of
The Blues latest trip through Nashville offered a familiar mix of hope and frustration, with a 5-2 loss that once again put their special teams under the microscope. Jimmy Snuggerud provided one bright spot by converting on the power play, giving St. Louis a needed jolt in a game where chances were harder to come by and the Predators penalty kill did plenty of the heavy lifting.
St. Louis managed only one goal on five power-play opportunities, and the inability to cash in when the game tilted toward the man advantage loomed large throughout the night. In goal, Jordan Binnington was left facing too much traffic and too many clean looks, and the Blues never found enough answers to keep the game from slipping away. [Read more 🡒]
Blues Bring Back A Young Name As Roster Questions Suddenly Grow
Roster maneuvering picked up around the Blues again as they turned to a familiar young name for help up front. Otto Stenberg was recalled from AHL Springfield as the club adjusted its forward group and kept a full 23-player roster in place, a sign that the day-to-day shuffle can have a bigger ripple effect when a team is already managing its cap picture.
The move came with Ross Johnston going on injured reserve because of a lower-body injury, and he is expected to miss at least a week. With Johnston sidelined and the roster full, the Blues have had to thread the needle between immediate availability and longer-range financial flexibility, which is how the cap conversation has suddenly become part of the personnel discussion. Logan Mailloux Finally Gave Blues Fans A Reason For Hope
Logan Mailloux is only three weeks into an eight-week recovery from hand surgery, but the young defenseman gave Blues fans a small sign that the long road back is moving in the right direction. Before a recent team practice, he was spotted skating on his own, the first indication that he has gotten back on the ice since the preseason injury that landed him on injured reserve.
For a club waiting to see what kind of impact Mailloux can make once healthy, even a solo skate carries some weight. The Blues still have a stretch to go before he is ready to rejoin the lineup, and his rehab remains the priority, but the sight of him moving again offered a more encouraging update than the silence that followed his surgery.
