Todd Ellis, former quarterback for the University of South Carolina, headlines the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) Class of 2025. Ellis, along with four other football legends, has left a lasting mark both on and off the field.
Joining him in this prestigious class are Jerry Butler (Clemson/Buffalo Bills), Dexter Coakley (Mt. Pleasant/Appalachian State/Dallas Cowboys), A.J.
Green (Summerville/Georgia/Cincinnati Bengals/Arizona Cardinals), and Bob Jeter (Union/Iowa/Green Bay Packers).
These five remarkable individuals will be celebrated at the 13th Annual Enshrinement Ceremony on April 16, 2026, at the elegant Hotel Hartness in Greenville, South Carolina. The event will honor not just athletic prowess but also leadership and the profound impact football has on communities.
The ceremony will also feature other honorees, including 2025 Humanitarian of the Year Emily Beamer, 2025 Blanchard-Rogers Trophy recipient Sammy Brown, presented by Ellison Kibler Merrill Lynch, and the 2026 Bridge Builder Excellence Award Finalists (to be announced). Together, these honorees embody the rich tradition of excellence and service in South Carolina football.
Todd Ellis, hailing from Greensboro, NC, has been a pivotal figure in South Carolina football. As a quarterback, he set records with 9,519 passing yards and more than 20 program records, earning a spot in the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020.
After his playing days, Ellis became the “Voice of the Gamecocks,” narrating the team’s journey as the radio play-by-play announcer since 2003. His vibrant commentary has connected generations of Gamecock fans, further cementing his legacy in sports media.
