South Carolina men’s basketball now has its non-conference path mapped out, and the Gamecocks will spend plenty of early nights in familiar surroundings.
The program announced Wednesday morning that 10 of its 14 non-SEC games will be played at Colonial Life Arena, starting with the season opener against Stetson on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Before that, South Carolina will get its first live action in a pair of exhibition games, beginning with a trip to Rock Hill, S.C. on Thursday, Oct. 15 for “The Scout Exhibition” against Wake Forest at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. That game is set for a 6 p.m. tip.
The second exhibition will be revealed later.
The home-heavy start continues after opening night. South Carolina will host Southeast Missouri State on Sunday, Nov.
8, Saint Peter’s on Wednesday, Nov. 11, Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Elon on Wednesday, Nov. 18, giving the Gamecocks a five-game homestand to begin the 2026-27 season.
After that stretch, the schedule shifts away from Columbia for three straight games. South Carolina heads to California for the Acrisure Series, facing Southern California on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Arizona State on Thursday, Nov. 26 in Palm Springs.
The Gamecocks then move on to Raleigh, N.C. for a matchup with N.C. State on Tuesday, Dec. 1 in the SEC/ACC Challenge.
That game against the Wolfpack is the only true road contest on the non-conference slate.
South Carolina comes back home for another three-game run at Colonial Life Arena, beginning with UT Martin on Sunday, Dec. 6 and Youngstown State on Saturday, Dec. 12.
The final game of that homestand is a date with Clemson on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
The schedule then sends the Gamecocks to Baltimore for a meeting with Maryland on Saturday, Dec. 19.
From there, South Carolina closes non-conference play with two more home games against North Carolina Central on Tuesday, Dec. 22 and South Carolina State on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
SEC play opens on Saturday, Jan. 2, when South Carolina travels to Baton Rouge, La. to face LSU.

There will be a little extra family intrigue on the sideline when South Carolina meets Mississippi State, because offensive coordinator Kendal Briles is set to line up opposite his brother-in-law, Jeff Lebby, on the other side. It is the sort of coaching matchup fans do not usually get in an SEC game, and it comes with some built-in familiarity because the two have already crossed paths as opposing coordinators before.
This will be the fourth time Briles and Lebby have coached against each other, even as both have acknowledged the family connection without letting it overshadow the job at hand. For South Carolina, it adds another layer to a game that already carries the usual conference stakes, with the wrinkle that one of the more interesting chess matches may be happening before the ball is even snapped. South Carolina Heads Into Mississippi State With Big Availability Questions
South Carolinas first SEC availability report of the 2026 football season gave the teams trip to Mississippi State an immediate layer of uncertainty, especially along the offensive line and at quarterback. Offensive lineman Jacarrius Peak and defensive end Dylan Stewart were listed as probable, while center Carter Miller landed in the questionable category and quarterback Lucian Anderson was ruled out.
