The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) has named Emily Beamer as the 2025 Humanitarian of the Year, celebrating her significant contributions to the South Carolina community. Emily will be honored at the 13th annual Enshrinement Ceremony at Hotel Hartness on April 16, 2026.
Emily Beamer, the wife of Shane Beamer, head football coach at the University of South Carolina, is a cherished figure within the Gamecock football family. Together, they have three children: daughters Sutton and Olivia, and son Hunter. Emily’s presence is a constant source of support and encouragement for both her family and the football program.
One of Emily’s most beloved traditions is baking cookies for the players every Thursday during the football season. What started as a simple act of kindness has evolved into a cherished ritual that underscores the program’s family-oriented culture. This tradition was even featured in the Netflix docuseries "SEC Football: Any Given Saturday," highlighting the personal connections that define college football.
Emily’s warmth and generosity have endeared her to both players and fans. In 2024, the South Carolina team celebrated her birthday with a heartfelt serenade in the locker room, a testament to the affection and appreciation the players have for her.
Beyond her involvement with the football program, Emily is deeply committed to community service. Through the Beamer Family Foundation, based in Columbia, South Carolina, she supports children in Richland County by partnering with local elementary schools and Prisma Children’s Hospital.
The foundation focuses on meeting educational and medical needs, providing essential resources for children and families. Emily also serves on the board of Prisma Children’s Hospital, furthering her commitment to improving outcomes for children throughout the region.
Additionally, the foundation is a major sponsor of the USC Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropic event in South Carolina.
