Will Johnson Just Gave Seahawks Fans New Bulletin Board Material

Can Will Johnson's bold words rally the Cardinals to break their NFC West losing streak or will the Seahawks use his comments as motivation for another victory?

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Will Johnson is already giving the Seattle Seahawks something to remember him by.

After a promising rookie season that was also hampered by injuries, Johnson sounded eager to jump into the NFC West grind during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio. He made it clear he likes the challenge of lining up against the league’s top teams every week.

"I love it," Johnson stated. "I wouldn't want it any other way.

That's the best. You get to go against the best every week, and that's how you prove you're the best. ...

I think we got a good opportunity in front of us to surprise a lot of people this year."

That’s the kind of quote that tends to travel fast in Seattle.

Johnson’s confidence would land differently if the Cardinals had shown more against the division’s heavy hitters in 2025. Instead, Arizona went 0-6 against the Seahawks, Rams and 49ers, and Seattle outscored them 67-0 in their two meetings. Four of those losses came by three scores or more.

The bigger issue for Arizona is that this isn’t an isolated case of offseason swagger. The Cardinals are coming off a 3-14 season, and veteran linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. has also talked as if the group is ready to take over the division. He said the Los Angeles Rams "still have to deal with" the Cardinals after acquiring future Hall of Fame pass rusher Myles Garrett.

Now Johnson has added his voice to the mix, and the Seahawks will almost certainly take note. The second-round pick in 2025 wasn’t on the field for either matchup with Seattle last season, but his comments have still handed the reigning Super Bowl champions another receipt.

Jamal Adams NFL Future Feels Bleaker Than Seahawks Fans Expected

Jamal Adams once looked like the kind of defensive tone-setter the Seahawks could build around, an All-Pro talent who played with a rare edge and made enough splash plays to reshape expectations in Seattle. Even after injuries began to pile up and his role changed, he kept showing enough versatility to stay on the radar, including a switch to inside linebacker last season that gave him at least a modest foothold in a new spot.

Now the path back is far less certain than anyone around the league probably would have guessed a few years ago. Adams has already bounced through Tennessee, Detroit and Las Vegas, and the reality is that teams may only come calling if they need immediate help once the season is underway. For a player who once seemed like a long-term fixture, that kind of waiting game says plenty about how quickly the league can move on. [Read more 🡒]

Seahawks May Have A Defensive Breakout Mike Macdonald Can Unleash

Rylie Mills didnt get much of a chance to show what he could do late in the 2025 season, but the Seahawks still got a glimpse of his disruptive ability when it mattered most. In Seattles Super Bowl win, the defensive lineman turned only five snaps into a sack and a tackle for loss, a small sample that hinted at why the coaching staff has been intrigued by his upside since bringing him into the program.

Now the focus shifts to what comes next, and the Seahawks have reason to believe Mills can become more than a situational piece in 2026. With a bigger role on the defensive line looking likely, he could help both as a run defender and, at times, as an edge rusher, while the staff and veteran teammates work to accelerate his development over the course of the season. Seahawks Fans Finally Got An Encouraging Zach Charbonnet Update

Zach Charbonnets offseason has moved into a more encouraging phase for the Seahawks, even if there is still no firm timetable attached to his recovery. After undergoing ACL surgery following the NFC Divisional Round, the running back has reportedly been progressing well and has even taken part in some conditioning work during minicamp, which is a welcome sign for a player whose season ended far earlier than Seattle expected.

The bigger picture in the backfield has only made his recovery loom larger. With Kenneth Walker III now in Kansas City and Seattle having added Emanuel Wilson while also drafting Jadarian Price, Charbonnets return will matter for more than just depth - it could shape how the Seahawks sort out the rotation once he is ready. For now, the expectation is that he may begin the year on the PUP list, leaving his season to build toward a midyear return without a precise date attached. [Read more 🡒]
