The Seahawks are bringing back cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles on a one-year deal, marking a return for the 27-year-old to the reigning Super Bowl champions. Jean-Charles first joined Seattle nearly a year ago and is set to contribute once again in the 2026 season.
Originally drafted by the Packers in the fifth round back in 2021, Jean-Charles started his NFL journey with a four-year rookie contract valued at $3.7 million, which included a $240,000 signing bonus. However, his time in Green Bay was cut short when he was waived during the preseason of his third year.
After leaving the Packers, Jean-Charles had brief stints with the 49ers and the Saints. While he found himself moving on and off New Orleans' roster, he eventually landed with the Seahawks in 2025, though he didn't see game action that season.
Looking back at 2024, Jean-Charles had a notable stretch with the Saints, appearing in nine games. During that time, he made his presence felt with 14 tackles, an interception, and two pass deflections. Now, as he returns to Seattle, Jean-Charles aims to build on those performances and make a significant impact for the Seahawks' defense.
