Maxx Crosby’s name is back in the trade conversation, and the Seattle Seahawks are once again part of the picture.
A lot of the attention has centered on the Los Angeles Rams, who were interested in Crosby after the Baltimore Ravens deal fell through. But the Seahawks were also one of the teams that looked into him during the offseason, and that interest may not be dead yet.
Dan Viens of Locked On Seahawks brought that up while reacting to Ian Rapoport’s ESPN feature on Crosby’s trade status. Viens pointed out that Seattle was among the “other teams” that checked in before, and he suggested the door could open again depending on how things go early in the season.
"The interesting thing about this piece is there's no mention of the Seahawks," he says in a post on X on Sunday. "But yes, they absolutely were one of the 'other teams' who would have also inquired at that time - just as they have several times over the last year or more."
He added that "depending on what kind of start the Raiders get off to this year under our old friend Klint Kubiak, those inquiries may resurface again before the trade deadline."
That keeps Seattle firmly in the mix as a team to watch if Crosby becomes available. The idea is not far-fetched: Crosby wants to win, and joining a team that just won the championship would fit that goal.
Whether the Seahawks come back around, though, likely depends on Crosby playing at the level he showed in 2025, or even better. If that happens, more teams could start calling.

As the new NFL season opens, three familiar Seahawks names are still on the outside looking in. Will Dissly, Tyler Lockett and Bobby Wagner all played major roles in Seattle in recent years, and each has taken a different path since leaving the roster shuffle behind.
