The Cowboys are finally set to play football for real - at least the preseason version of it - when they close out the first week of exhibition action against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night at Lumen Field.
It’s the last kickoff of the opening preseason slate, and it comes with two teams in very different places. Seattle enters as the defending Super Bowl champions, while Dallas is trying to shake off two straight seasons without a playoff berth. Still, Brian Schottenheimer’s team gets a chance to show what it has in 2026, and that starts now.

Dallas’ preseason schedule continues after this trip to Seattle with another road game at the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 9 pm CT, before wrapping the exhibition slate at home against the New Orleans Saints on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 pm CT.
The Cowboys’ regular season opens on the road against the New York Giants on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 8:20 p.m. ET.
From there, Dallas will host Washington on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 4:25 p.m. ET and Baltimore on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 4:25 p.m.
ET at Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
The schedule keeps rolling with a trip to the Houston Texans on Sunday, October 3 at 1 p.m. ET, then a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, October 8 at 8:15 p.m. ET.
Later in the year, the Cowboys visit the Philadelphia Eagles on October 26 for Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. ET, then return home for matchups with the San Francisco 49ers on November 15 at 4:25 p.m.
ET and the Tennessee Titans on November 22 at 1 p.m. ET.
Philadelphia comes back to Dallas on November 26 at 4:30 p.m. ET, before the Cowboys head to Seattle again on Monday, Dec. 7 at 8:15 p.m.

Dallas’ bye comes in Week 14, and the stretch continues after that with a road game at the Los Angeles Rams on December 20 at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Mike Macdonald confirmed Prices absence, which means the Seahawks will turn to other backs for this one, including Velus Jones Jr., Jacardia Wright, TJ Harden and Justin Jones.
