Seattle got more injury news Monday morning, and the biggest takeaway is that the outlook on Rashid Shaheed is encouraging.
During his weekly appearance on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk, head coach Mike Macdonald said “the early returns are positive” on the wide receiver after Shaheed left Sunday night’s 20-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee injury.
“Any time the knee’s involved, you’re holding your breath,” Macdonald said. “So right now, let’s just say it’s positive.”
The Seahawks also learned after Macdonald’s interview that left tackle Charles Cross is dealing with a high-ankle sprain and will miss time, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport reported that Cross could be back in one to two weeks, depending on how rehab goes.
Macdonald had a more measured update on Zach Charbonnet. The running back is set to practice in “full capacity” again this week, but his status for next Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears remains undecided.
Charbonnet was activated off the physically unable to perform list last week and took part in a full practice for the first time since ACL surgery on Feb. 20. Even so, Seattle ruled him out Friday for the Chiefs game.
“We’re sticking to our plan,” Macdonald said. “He’s still gonna practice in a full capacity, and then we’ll evaluate as the week goes on and go from there. But he had a great week, in great spirits.”
Macdonald also said running back Jadarian Price will be back on the practice field this week, though the Seahawks still don’t know whether the rookie first-round draft pick will be ready to play against Chicago. Price has missed the last four games with a chest injury, and he is eligible to be activated off injured reserve this week.

Seahawks Added Insult To Chiefs First Loss In Brutal Fashion
The Seahawks 20-3 win over the Chiefs in Week 7 was already one of the most lopsided results of the NFL weekend, but it carried an extra layer of embarrassment for Kansas City. Seattles defense controlled the game from start to finish, and the victory also came on a day when Travis Kelce reached a notable milestone, passing Tony Gonzalez for the most combined regular-season and playoff receiving yards by a tight end.
After the game, Seattle added a little more salt to the wound with a social media post that leaned into Taylor Swift, Kelces wife. The team included a friendship bracelet image and paired it with a caption quoting one of Swifts songs, a playful jab that kept the Seahawks in the spotlight even after the final whistle. Kenneth Walker Couldnt Hide His Frustration After Seahawks Shut Him Down
Kenneth Walker III had a rough return to Seattle in Week 7, and the frustration showed after the final whistle. The former Seahawks running back, now with the Kansas City Chiefs, did not stop to greet his old teammates following Seattles 20-3 win, a departure from the usual postgame courtesies that drew attention after a game in which the Seahawks defense controlled the action.
Walker later explained his reaction by pointing to the loss itself, and it was easy to see why the evening left a mark. Seattle made a point of taking him out of the game plan, holding him to a season-low 36 rushing yards and helping set the tone for a defense that dictated the matchup from start to finish. Seahawks Backfield Suddenly Has A New Week 8 Problem
The Seahawks are getting closer to adding another name to a backfield that has already been slow to settle, with Mike Macdonald saying rookie running back Jadarian Prices 21-day practice window will open this week. Seattle is still sorting through its options heading into the game against the Chicago Bears, and the timing matters for a group that could use some stability as the season moves along.
Zach Charbonnet is still on the 53-man roster after being activated off the PUP list, but he has yet to play this season and Macdonald did not say whether that changes in Week 8. For now, Emmanuel Wilson is expected to keep handling the lead role, leaving Seattle with another week of questions about how soon the backfield can finally come into focus. [Read more 🡒]
