The Seahawks will be without starting right guard Anthony Bradford when they face the Arizona Cardinals, after officially ruling him out on Saturday.
Bradford had been limited all week with knee and hip injuries and entered Friday’s report as questionable. With him unavailable, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said the team will turn to third-year guard Christian Haynes to handle the spot up front. If Haynes starts, it will be his first since Seattle drafted him in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Bradford’s absence also ends a run of starts that had held steady since the back end of the 2024 season, when he injured his ankle against the Cardinals.
Seattle also made a move at safety, activating Rodney Thomas II from the practice squad. The Seahawks are dealing with some thin depth there, with Ty Okada ruled out and Nick Emmanwori listed as questionable for Sunday’s divisional matchup.
Thomas, a 2022 seventh-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts, joined Seattle’s practice squad this offseason after four seasons in Indianapolis. The Yale product had a strong rookie year with the Colts, finishing with four interceptions and 52 tackles, but he eventually slipped out of the rotation and did not start a game last season.
Seattle already got a look at Thomas in Week 1 against the New England Patriots, when he finished with four tackles and tipped the pass that turned into Nehemiah Pritchett’s interception in the Seahawks’ 13-10 win. With the Cardinals coming in off an upset of the Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle may need another solid showing from him.
