The Seahawks are heading into their Week 15 matchup against the Colts with something every NFL team craves this time of year: a relatively clean injury report.
Seattle listed just one player as a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice-rookie tight end Elijah Arroyo, who’s dealing with a knee injury sustained during last Sunday’s win over the Falcons. That’s a far cry from what Indianapolis is dealing with as they prepare for a tough road trip to the Pacific Northwest.
Let’s start with the Colts. Their quarterback room has been flipped upside down in the span of a week.
Starter Daniel Jones is out for the season with a torn Achilles, and backup Riley Leonard, who stepped in after Jones went down, is nursing a knee injury of his own. That situation has pushed Indy into emergency mode-so much so that they pulled 44-year-old Philip Rivers out of retirement and signed him to the practice squad.
Yes, that Philip Rivers. The one who last threw a pass in the NFL in 2020.
And while Leonard was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, the fact that Rivers is even in the conversation to start tells you how thin the Colts are at quarterback right now. It’s a storyline to watch closely as Sunday approaches.
The Colts also had three players who didn’t practice at all: tackle Braden Smith (concussion/neck), cornerback Ahmad Gardner (calf), and wide receiver Anthony Gould (foot). All three are key contributors, and their status could have a major impact on how Indianapolis gameplans against a surging Seahawks team.
As for Seattle, the rest of their injury report is largely precautionary. Ten players were listed as limited participants, but five of those were simply veteran rest days-linebackers Ernest Jones IV, Demarcus Lawrence, and Uchenna Nwosu, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and defensive end Leonard Williams. That’s standard operating procedure for this stage of the season.
The other limited players are dealing with more traditional bumps and bruises: safety Julian Love (hamstring), safety Ty Okada (oblique/shoulder), defensive tackle Jarran Reed (wrist/thumb), tight end Eric Saubert (calf), and center Jalen Sundell (knee).
On the positive side, Seattle had four players who were full participants despite being on the injury list. Tight end A.J. Barner (ankle), defensive end Rylie Mills (knee), wide receiver Cody White (abdomen), and wide receiver Dareke Young (quadricep) all practiced without restrictions-an encouraging sign for their availability on Sunday.

With the Seahawks riding momentum and staying relatively healthy, they’re in a strong position heading into Sunday. The Colts, on the other hand, are scrambling to stabilize a roster that’s taken some serious hits-especially under center. Whether it’s Leonard gutting it out or Rivers making an improbable return to the field, Indianapolis will need to bring more than just resilience to keep pace with a Seahawks team that’s quietly getting healthier and more dangerous by the week.
