The 2026 NFL season opens on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and the championship board already has a few eye-catching twists.
At the top of the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams sit alone as the favorites at +280. Right behind them are the Seattle Seahawks at +600, then the Philadelphia Eagles at +900, Detroit Lions at +900 and San Francisco 49ers at +950. The Seahawks also enter the season with the second-best Super Bowl conference odds in the NFC, and they’ll get an immediate test in a Super Bowl LX rematch against the New England Patriots in Seattle.
That opener comes with some real intrigue. The Seahawks won Super Bowl LX 29-13, and they’ll try to begin their title defense on the right foot when the season kicks off.
The AFC picture looks a little different. The Buffalo Bills lead the way at +500, with the Baltimore Ravens next at +600.
The Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs are both listed at +750, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers at +800. The Patriots, meanwhile, have the sixth-best odds to win the AFC at +850.
There are a few numbers on this board that stand out. The Denver Broncos, who reached the AFC Championship Game last season, are tied for seventh in the conference at +900.
They share that number with the Cincinnati Bengals, who didn’t make the playoffs last year. On the NFC side, the Dallas Cowboys are sitting with the sixth-best odds to win the conference even though they also missed the playoffs last season.
