Seahawks Backfield Suddenly Has A Monday Night Twist Fans Need To See

Key players face contrasting fortunes as the Seahawks navigate injuries ahead of their clash with the Chicago Bears.

Seattle’s backfield took a turn in opposite directions on Friday’s injury report, with Jadarian Price moving closer to a possible return while Zach Charbonnet’s status became less clear.

Price, who is dealing with a chest injury, was a full participant one day after getting back on the field. It was his first full practice since he landed on injured reserve on Oct. 3, and head coach Mike Macdonald said Thursday it’s “realistic” that Price could be available for Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Charbonnet’s situation wasn’t nearly as encouraging. After being a full participant in each of the previous four practices, he was limited Friday because of a knee injury. That leaves his chances of making his much-anticipated return from February ACL surgery uncertain heading into Monday night.

The Seahawks also continued to monitor several other key names. Left tackle Charles Cross (ankle), wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (knee) and edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu (ankle) were sidelined for a second straight day.

Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II showed up on the report with a new back injury and was listed as limited. On the positive side, three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Leonard Williams (Achilles) and starting linebacker Drake Thomas (ankle) both moved from limited on Thursday to full participation on Friday. That’s a strong sign for Thomas, who has missed the past two games and may be on track to rejoin the starting lineup.

Backup nose tackle Brandon Pili was another new addition, sitting out with a back issue.

Seattle’s full practice report also included:

  • Did not participate: T Charles Cross (ankle), WR Rashid Shaheed (knee), EDGE Uchenna Nwosu (ankle), G Anthony Bradford (knee), RB Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring), DT Brandon Pili (back), LB Patrick O’Connell (toe)
  • Limited participation: DT Byron Murphy II (back), RB Zach Charbonnet (knee), LB Tyrice Knight (hip), QB Drew Lock (right elbow)
  • Full participation: DT Leonard Williams (Achilles), RB Jadarian Price (chest), LB Drake Thomas (ankle), G Quenton Nelson (knee), FB Brady Russell (wrist), EDGE Connor O’Toole (hamstring), LB Chazz Surratt (calf), WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (non-injury-related/rest), EDGE DeMarcus Lawrence (non-injury-related/rest)

Quenton Nelson Just Raised The Stakes For Seattles Offensive Line

The Seahawks made a major move to stabilize the middle of their offensive line, landing guard Quenton Nelson from the Colts for a pair of future draft picks. Seattle expects Nelson to step in at left guard, and the trade immediately changes the look of a unit that has been searching for more consistency up front. For a team trying to protect its quarterback and create a cleaner run game, the addition carries obvious weight.

Nelson is now in the middle of the usual post-trade adjustment period, learning a new offensive scheme and getting acquainted with new teammates. The Seahawks are giving him support as he settles in, but the ripple effect is already clear: his arrival forces a reshuffle along the line and raises the standard for everyone around him. How quickly that group clicks will be one of the more important early storylines for Seattle. [Read more 🡒]

Rashid Shaheed Trade Still Looks Worth It For Seahawks

The Seahawks brought in Rashid Shaheed during the 2025 season to give their offense and special teams a jolt, and the move already looks like one of those midseason swings that can pay off in more than one way. Shaheed was part of Seattles Super Bowl run last season, offering useful production as both a receiver and a return man while giving the team a speed element it had been looking for.

This season has not started as explosively on the receiving side, with his production down so far, but Seattle still has a player who can tilt field position every time he touches a kick or punt. For a team that values hidden yardage and game-changing speed, that kind of versatility keeps the trade looking smart even if the box score has been quieter lately. [Read more 🡒]

Rams Trade Deadline Plans May Hinge On One McVay Reality

Byron Murphy II has quietly become one of the more encouraging developments in Seattle this season, with the Seahawks coaches praising how quickly he has adapted and how much impact hes made up front. His play has been strong enough that teammates are already floating the idea of a long-term extension, which is the kind of internal momentum a front office notices when it starts mapping out the future.

Across the division, the Rams are weighing a very different kind of roster question, one tied to Sean McVays hope that several key injured players can come back within the next month. McVay made clear that any trade-deadline conversations will depend on those injury timelines, a reminder that one teams health can shape the market for everyone else, including a Seahawks club watching the NFC West landscape closely.
