After clinching Super Bowl LX, the Seattle Seahawks are entering the offseason with some pivotal decisions ahead. With key players like running back Kenneth Walker III and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed approaching free agency, the Seahawks face the challenge of retaining their core talent.
Rashid Shaheed, who joined Seattle mid-season from the New Orleans Saints, made an impact with 59 receptions for 687 yards and two touchdowns in 2025. A crucial yet underrated addition, Shaheed has expressed a strong desire to stay in Seattle and build on their recent success.
"Absolutely," Shaheed told NFL Network's Bridget Condon. "Conversations are definitely going to be heating up towards March.
But you know, I would love to come back. I loved my experience here, I'm loving the Pacific Northwest, and obviously the organization is second to none.
I kind of want to run it back. We just won the Super Bowl, so, you know, why not?"
Shaheed's commitment to winning is clear. Having tasted Super Bowl glory, he's eager to continue competing at the highest level.
"The goal for me is just to continue to win," he said. "Now that I've got a taste of a Super Bowl championship, I'm gonna continue to work towards that each and every year, man.
I'm a competitor, I love the game of football, I'm willing to do whatever for my teammates and my team."
While his receiving stats during the Super Bowl run were modest, with three catches for 78 yards, Shaheed's prowess on special teams set him apart. He notched three return touchdowns in 2025, including a thrilling 95-yard kickoff return against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.
The Seahawks, however, face a potential dilemma in choosing between Shaheed and Kenneth Walker III. Walker III, coming off his second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season and a Super Bowl MVP performance, is likely to command a significant contract. His 135-yard rushing game in the Super Bowl echoed the dominance of past legends like Terrell Davis.
Adding to the complexity, Seattle must also address their defensive roster, with key players like defensive tackle Josh Jones and edge-rusher Boye Mafe approaching free agency. Given the defense's crucial role in their championship run, the Seahawks have some tough decisions ahead in maintaining their competitive edge.
