Raiders Target Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak in Bold Coaching Move

As the Raiders zero in on Klint Kubiak as their top head coaching target, a familiar defensive name quietly emerges as a contingency plan.

The Las Vegas Raiders appear to be zeroing in on their next head coach, and all signs point toward Klint Kubiak. The Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator is set for a second interview with the Raiders this weekend-an important step that could all but seal the deal. After that, his attention will return to the task at hand: preparing Seattle’s offense for a Super Bowl LX showdown with the New England Patriots.

Kubiak has emerged as the frontrunner for the job, and it’s not hard to see why. He’s young, creative, and has shown a knack for maximizing talent on the offensive side of the ball.

His work with the Seahawks this season has turned heads across the league, and with the Raiders expected to draft Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick in April, pairing a promising rookie with an offensive-minded coach like Kubiak makes a lot of sense. This could be the beginning of a new era in Vegas-one built around a modern offense and a franchise quarterback.

But while Kubiak is the clear favorite, he’s not the only name in the mix. Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero remains a viable candidate, according to reporting from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Evero brings a different kind of pedigree to the table-one rooted in defense and leadership. He’s well-respected around the league and has ties to the Raiders organization that go back to his playing days as an undrafted free agent out of UC-Davis.

Evero also served as the Denver Broncos’ defensive coordinator in 2022, and that connection could carry weight in the Raiders’ front office. General manager John Spytek and other staffers have Denver ties, and familiarity often plays a role in these types of decisions. If the Raiders decide to go in a defensive direction, Evero is a name they can trust.

Still, the momentum is clearly behind Kubiak. His offensive vision aligns with the Raiders’ likely draft strategy, and his recent success in Seattle has positioned him as one of the top young coaching candidates in the league.

But until pen meets paper, Evero’s presence in the conversation keeps the door slightly ajar-for both the Raiders and the Seahawks. If Las Vegas pivots, Seattle could end up holding onto a rising star on their coaching staff.
