Raiders Target Rising NFC Coach for Head Job in Bold Move

The Raiders are closing in on a potential franchise-altering hire as they zero in on one of the NFLs rising offensive minds.

The Las Vegas Raiders appear to be zeroing in on their next head coach - and all signs point to Klint Kubiak.

According to multiple reports, the Raiders are targeting the current Seahawks offensive coordinator to take over the reins in Vegas. Kubiak has completed a second interview with the team, and while nothing can be finalized until after the Super Bowl, there’s strong mutual interest in getting a deal done once the season wraps up.

This isn’t just a name floating around - Kubiak is firmly in the mix. He’s also been considered for the Cardinals’ head coaching job, but right now, the momentum is clearly with the Raiders.

At 38, Kubiak has already put together a coaching résumé that stretches across the NFL map. After playing quarterback at Colorado State, he broke into coaching in 2010 at Texas A&M as a quality control assistant. From there, he began climbing the ladder - joining the Vikings in 2013 as an assistant wide receivers coach, then spending a year at Kansas coaching the same position before heading to Denver in 2016 as an offensive assistant.

His coaching journey took a more personal turn in 2019 when he reunited with his father, longtime NFL coach Gary Kubiak, in Minnesota. Klint served as the Vikings' quarterbacks coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2021. When the Vikings cleaned house after that season, he returned to Denver to coach quarterbacks, then landed with the 49ers as their passing game coordinator the following year.

That 49ers stint helped elevate his profile, and in February 2024, he was hired as offensive coordinator by the Saints - though his time there was short-lived. By 2025, he’d taken over as OC in Seattle, where he helped engineer one of the league’s most productive offenses.

And that’s where things get really interesting for the Raiders.

Under Kubiak’s guidance, the Seahawks’ offense in 2025 ranked top 10 in just about every meaningful category: 8th in total yards, 3rd in points scored, 10th in rushing yards, and 8th in passing yards. That kind of balance and explosiveness is exactly what teams are looking for in today’s NFL - and it’s no surprise the Raiders are intrigued.

Kubiak’s offensive philosophy, shaped by years under his father and stints with quarterback-friendly systems in Minnesota, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle, blends West Coast principles with modern flexibility. He’s worked with a variety of quarterbacks and has shown the ability to tailor schemes to his personnel - a trait that should appeal to a Raiders team still shaping its offensive identity.

While nothing’s official yet, the writing’s on the wall: Klint Kubiak is on the verge of landing his first head coaching job. If things fall into place after the Super Bowl, he’ll be tasked with leading the Raiders into a new era - one that, if his recent track record is any indication, could bring a much-needed offensive spark to Las Vegas.
