Raiders Stun Fans by Signing Super Bowl Champion Wide Receiver

Raiders bolster special teams by signing Super Bowl champ Dareke Young, aiming to enhance their kick return prowess with the seasoned wide receiver.

The Las Vegas Raiders are bolstering their roster with a key acquisition from the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks. Dareke Young, a versatile wide receiver and return specialist, is making his way to Vegas, as announced by Ari Meirov on social media.

Young, who carved out a niche with the Seahawks, was originally a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft from Lenoir-Rhyne. His NFL journey has seen him appear in 42 games, where he made four catches, including two for 48 yards in the 2025 season.

While his contributions in the passing game have been limited, Young's impact has been felt primarily on special teams. In 2025, he showcased his return skills by averaging an impressive 32.2 yards on 10 kick returns. But it doesn’t stop there-his prowess as a special teamer is evident with nine tackles during the regular season and three more in the playoffs, along with a crucial fumble recovery.

The Raiders see Young as a vital piece for their special teams unit. His ability to handle returns and make tackles downfield adds a layer of depth that every successful team needs. While his role in the passing game may be minor, Young’s knack for doing the gritty, unheralded work is exactly what makes him a valuable addition to the squad.
