Ann Michael Maye had kicked off her outfit check videos on TikTok before every New England Patriots game, and on Sept. 10 she shared what she wore for the opener: a white tank top, blue pants, a bandana tied to her hip, and a red necklace. The post drew plenty of attention before kickoff, but once the game ended badly, the tone in the comments changed quickly.
“Tell him to sleep on the couch tn,” one TikTok user wrote.
“Can u tell drake maye stop giving Stevenson the fucking ball,” another fan commented.
“Drake Maye when he’s not facing the 2-15 Jets every week,” a Patriots fan said.
The criticism kept rolling in from there.
“I think you should teach us how cook meatball subs like your husband makes,” one comment read.
“Can u tell him to throw the ball to AJ I need to win my fantasy league,” a fan wrote.
“Playing like Tua out there🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,” another person added.
The reaction came after a rough finish for Maye, who owned the loss afterward. New England had the game under control after Seattle lost its starting quarterback to an injury early, but Maye threw three interceptions over the Patriots’ final three drives, opening the door for the Seahawks’ comeback.
Seattle made it count, rallying for the 13-10 win.
“Yeah, we had the game under control,” Maye told reporters after the game. “Thought we had a good plan to start chipping away and be patient and lost patience and it cost us, decisions that cost us the game on my part, on my end.
“I vow to myself to be better and realize it’s a long season, but at same time, we can’t have those. We can’t have those.
It’s unacceptable, and I know we got to get back to work. That wasn’t how I play football and how I want to represent my game and playing quarterback for the Patriots.”
Maye finished 23-of-33 for 178 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions.
