NFL Evaluators Just Sent A Strong Message About Two Cardinals Cornerstones

From rising stars to seasoned stalwarts, the NFC's powerhouse players are making waves with their strength and versatility, signalling a competitive season ahead.

A few NFC names drew strong reviews in Jeremy Fowler’s latest positional rankings, with praise flowing for players in San Francisco, Arizona and Seattle.

In San Francisco, 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk had especially high marks for undrafted rookie running back Kaelon Black after spending the offseason program with him. Juszczyk pointed to Black’s build, burst and work habits, saying, “I’ve been so impressed by Kaelon Black,” Juszczyk said, via the 49ers Talk podcast.

“He No. 1 is a ball of muscle. This guy is absolutely jacked and he’s explosive.

That’s really what has stood out to me is how twitchy and explosive he gets through that hole.”

Juszczyk also highlighted the rookie’s approach away from the field. “Been really impressed with him physically, mentally as well.

Like just a guy that seems to get it, that works hard, that cares about the classroom. So, I think there’s a lot of good things ahead for Kaelon, and I think he’s going to help us.”

Arizona had two players singled out in Fowler’s tight end and tackle rankings. Trey McBride landed in the top ten among tight ends and got a strong scouting report from an NFC coordinator: “Ball skills, ball in hand, physical ability - just an extremely impressive player across the board. And not bad in the run game.”

Paris Johnson Jr. also earned an honorable mention from an NFC executive. The assessment was brief but pointed: “Arrow pointing up. I think he can be elite.”

Seattle showed up prominently on Fowler’s defensive tackle list, where Leonard Williams checked in at No. 1.

One anonymous NFL coordinator called him “the most important player on that Super Bowl team” and added, “He’s the total package. You can line him up in front of the right tackle, the right guard, the center, the left guard, the left tackle - he can beat them all.

He’s always had game-changing ability, and he’s putting it all together now. And those around him are making plays because of it, too.”

Byron Murphy also received an honorable mention after tying Williams with seven sacks on the year. A veteran defensive coach said, “He’s so explosive. Teams double him, and he can break through it,” said a veteran defensive coach.

Fowler’s cornerback rankings included Devon Witherspoon, and the praise there was just as forceful. An anonymous coordinator called him “Outstanding in the slot, can play on the perimeter, violent, physical and impacts games [in ways] that don’t show up in [the] stat sheet.

And he’s so twitched up as an athlete. He’s just a really good football player - I don’t care that he’s not a traditional outside corner.

He’s the ultimate tone-setter.”

Patrick Mahomes Just Said Something Seahawks Fans Never Expected About Kenneth Walker

Kenneth Walker IIIs move from Seattle to Kansas City already made him one of the more interesting additions on the Chiefs roster, and it got a little more attention this week when Patrick Mahomes spoke highly of the former Seahawks back. Walker signed a three-year deal with Kansas City after leaving Seattle, giving the Chiefs a proven runner with real upside and a rsum that still leaves room for debate.

For Seahawks fans, the intrigue is familiar: Walker has flashed enough talent to make teams believe in him, but his past few seasons also came with missed games and uneven production, which is part of why his next chapter carries so much weight. The Chiefs clearly see a player worth betting on, and now the bigger question is whether Walker can turn that trust into the kind of steady impact that has eluded him at times so far. [Read more 🡒]

Seahawks May Have One More Chance To Fix A Familiar Mistake

Seattles offensive line still looks like a spot where the front office could use another clean answer, especially at center and right guard. Jalen Sundell has been in the mix at center, but the Seahawks have been searching for a more stable option there, and Ethan Pocics name naturally fits that discussion because of what he has already shown in the league and the fact that he has been on the market.

Pocics availability matters because Seattle does not have many obvious veteran fixes sitting around, and a familiar face with starting experience would at least give the team a clearer path to sorting out the middle of the line. The question now is whether the Seahawks decide this is the kind of move worth making, or whether the chance to address a long-running issue passes them by again. [Read more 🡒]

Mike Macdonald Sends Seahawks A Strong Message About The NFC West

The NFC West has been getting plenty of offseason buzz, with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams making headline-grabbing additions that have only reinforced the idea that the division could be one of the leagues toughest again. For the Seahawks, though, the conversation inside the building sounds a lot less concerned with who else is loading up and more focused on how Seattle handles its own business as the 2026 season approaches.

Mike Macdonald has made it clear he wants his team centered on itself, not distracted by the arms race around the division. That mindset will get an early test when Seattle opens against the New England Patriots on Sept. 9, a matchup that comes with its own level of intrigue after both teams spent the offseason reshaping their rosters.
