The Detroit Lions have officially re-signed defensive lineman Myles Adams, bringing back a player who's shown resilience and determination throughout his career. Adams, now 28, has traveled a winding path since going undrafted out of Rice in 2020. His journey began with the Carolina Panthers, where he signed a rookie contract but was waived after training camp.
Adams found a temporary home on the Panthers’ practice squad before the Seattle Seahawks picked him up in December 2021. Although his time in Seattle started with a release, he was brought back in January 2021 and stayed with the Seahawks on a series of one-year deals.
In November 2024, Seattle released Adams, but he quickly returned to their practice squad. It wasn't long before the Detroit Lions saw his potential and added him to their active roster. Adams made an impression, earning himself a one-year contract with Detroit in 2025.
During the 2024 season, Adams showcased his skills in seven games, recording seven tackles and one sack. His ability to make an impact on the field has clearly resonated with the Lions, leading to his re-signing. Adams’ journey is a testament to perseverance and the relentless pursuit of his NFL dreams.
