Kenneth Walker III Stuns with First Impression of Patrick Mahomes

Kenneth Walker III, fresh off a standout season, shares his first impressions of Patrick Mahomes as he joins the Chiefs in pursuit of another Super Bowl title.

The Kansas City Chiefs made headlines with their latest acquisition, signing Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III to a lucrative three-year deal worth $43.05 million, potentially reaching $45 million. This move signals the Chiefs' intent to bolster their roster after missing the playoffs last season.

Walker, who had an impressive 2025 season with the Seattle Seahawks, expressed his excitement about joining Kansas City. During his introduction to the media, he shared his feelings about the pre-free agency period, emphasizing the importance of feeling valued.

“You feel appreciated and wanted. Everybody wants that,” Walker said. “I’m just trying to get another one [Super Bowl ring].”

Walker also spoke highly of his new quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, describing him as a genuine individual after their initial phone conversation.

Reflecting on his 2025 performance, Walker played all 17 games, amassing 1,027 yards on 221 carries with five touchdowns. His postseason contributions were crucial for the Seahawks, and now he faces the challenge of replicating that success with the Chiefs.

When discussing his decision to join the Chiefs, Walker highlighted the team's winning culture as a significant factor. “It’s a winning culture. They know how to win, so I feel like it’s a great fit for me,” he said.

The Chiefs have reunited with Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator and welcomed back Travis Kelce, while eagerly anticipating Mahomes' return to full health. With these strategic moves, Kansas City is poised for a promising 2026 season, aiming to reclaim their spot at the top.
