Kraken Unveil A New Look Seattle Fans Will Instantly Recognize

The Seattle Kraken unveil their striking "Hometown Remix" jersey, blending modern design with rich Pacific Northwest heritage for the 2026-27 season.

The Seattle Kraken are adding a fourth jersey to the mix for the 2026-27 season, and this one puts the team’s secondary anchor logo right where you can’t miss it.

Unveiled Monday morning as part of the NHL’s “Hometown Remix” program, the new look gives all 32 teams a fresh uniform set. Seattle’s version leans into a retro feel, with a navy sweater and pants accented by cream and sky blue.

The Kraken will break them out for the first time when they host the Calgary Flames at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

After that, the team will wear the uniforms six times total this season, and every appearance will be at home: Nov. 28 against Edmonton, Jan. 2 against the New York Islanders, Jan. 3 against Vancouver, and Feb. 13 and March 15 against St. Louis.

Fans can already buy the jerseys at the team store at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Northgate or online.

The design is loaded with Pacific Northwest touches. The anchor logo includes a nod to the Space Needle, which sits on the same Seattle Center campus as Climate Pledge Arena, and also pulls in details inspired by scrimshaw, the old maritime engraving tradition, to give the jersey elements an etched look.

The lettering and numbers were shaped by hand-painted markings seen on vessels in Seattle’s harbors. On the sleeve, sublimated artwork shows the waters of Puget Sound framed by the mountain ranges of the Pacific Northwest, including the silhouette of Mount Rainier.

Along the hemline, the jersey also features Washington’s state flower, the rhododendron, as a subtle nod to the region’s natural beauty.

Tye Kartye Is Giving The Rangers A Boost They Desperately Needed

Tye Kartyes move from Seattle to New York has already turned into one of those early-season roster decisions that can quietly reshape a teams outlook. After joining the Rangers, the winger has settled in quickly and carved out a meaningful role on both the third and second lines, giving New York the kind of energy, two-way reliability and secondary scoring it has been searching for.

For the Rangers, the appeal is obvious: Kartye has been one of their more effective wingers in the opening stretch, and his play has given the lineup a needed jolt on both ends of the ice. If he keeps producing at this level, the conversation around him could shift from short-term help to something longer term, with a new contract extension becoming part of the picture. [Read more 🡒]

What Shane Wright Really Brings To The Predators Now

A notable change in the Krakens young core came through a trade with Nashville, with Seattle moving on from Shane Wright and bringing in Matthew Wood. Wright had spent parts of multiple seasons in the organization, bouncing between the NHL club and its AHL affiliate, while Wood arrives after finishing his rookie season with the Predators and carrying the profile of a recent first-round pick from the 2023 draft.

For Seattle, the move underscores how much the front office is still sorting through its long-term forward mix. Wrights departure closes one chapter on a player the organization invested in early, and Wood gives the Kraken another young piece to evaluate as they continue shaping the next wave of talent. The swap is the kind of transaction that can look small in the moment but says plenty about where a team believes it is headed. [Read more 🡒]

Kraken Just Made A Shane Wright Move Fans Will Judge Quickly

Seattles front office made a notable roster swap on Friday, sending Shane Wright to Nashville and bringing back Matthew Wood in a deal announced by Kraken general manager Jason Botterill. Wood is a 21-year-old right wing and a 2023 first-round pick who already has NHL experience from last season, giving Seattle another young forward with some runway as the team moves into a fresh stretch of its schedule.

The move also closes the book on Wrights time in the organization after the former 2022 first-round pick asked for a trade last spring. Both players are expected to join their new teams before upcoming games between the Kraken and Predators, which adds an immediate layer to a transaction that will be judged quickly in Seattle based on how each side fits into the next phase of its season.
