Kraken Make Urgent Logan Morrison Call Up

In the face of mounting injuries, the Seattle Kraken call up a promising talent, Logan Morrison, to bolster their forward lineup.

The Seattle Kraken are making moves to bolster their lineup, recalling forward Logan Morrison from the AHL under emergency conditions. With key players like Jaden Schwartz, Jared McCann, and Ryan Winterton sidelined due to injuries, Morrison’s return is timely.

Morrison first dipped his toes into the NHL waters nearly two years ago, debuting on March 26, 2024. Although his initial four-game stint didn’t light up the scoreboard, with no points and a minus-one rating, his time with the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds has been a different story.

Over the past two seasons, Morrison has been a standout, consistently posting 40-point seasons. This year, he's taken his game to new heights, leading the team in goals (27) and points (56) over 61 games, while also racking up 40 penalty minutes and a plus-22 rating-career highs across the board.

At 23, Morrison is poised to potentially make his fifth NHL appearance, stepping in as the Kraken search for a right-winger to round out their roster. Seattle has been experimenting with a lineup of 11 forwards and seven defensemen, a strategy that has allowed Cale Fleury to see more ice time.

Fleury has managed one point and a minus-one in his recent four-game stretch, bringing his season tally to three points in 21 games. However, with the Kraken hitting a rough patch, going 1-4-0 in their last five games, a return to a more traditional lineup might just be the spark they need.
