Kole Lind is getting a look in Tampa Bay.
The 27-year-old unrestricted free agent forward will attend the Lightning’s 2026 training camp on a professional tryout opportunity, the club announced Friday afternoon. Lind arrives after spending the past two seasons in the Dallas Stars organization, where he played exclusively for AHL affiliate Texas.
At Texas in the 2025-26 regular season, the 6-foot-1, right-handed forward skated in 70 games and produced 11 goals and 35 points. He also chipped in two goals over five playoff games.
Dallas first brought Lind in as a Group 6 unrestricted free agent in 2024, and he stayed with the organization on consecutive one-year deals before hitting the market again on July 1 of this year. Now he’ll try to earn a place on Tampa Bay’s roster, or at least carve out a permanent role in the Lightning organization.
Lind was selected 33rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2017 NHL Draft after playing his junior hockey with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets. He turned pro with the AHL’s Utica Comets in 2018.
His best AHL scoring stretch came in 2019-20, when he posted 14 goals and 44 points in 61 games with Utica. That performance led to his first NHL action with Vancouver, where he played seven games in the 2020-21 season.
Seattle then claimed Lind from the Canucks in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. He got a longer NHL run with the Kraken in their first season, appearing in 23 games in 2021-22 and finishing with two goals and eight points. After that, most of his time in the Seattle organization came in the AHL, and he played just one more NHL game for the Kraken in 2023-24 before leaving as a free agent.

One name fans will be watching especially closely is Jake OBrien, the Krakens 2025 first-round draft pick, who is slated to take part in both rookie camp and the main training camp. There will also be prospect games in Abbotsford against Vancouver mixed into the schedule, giving Seattle a longer look at where some of its newest talent stands before the regular season opens Sept. 29 and the first game arrives Oct. 1 against the Flames.
