Sharks Hometown Remix Debut Is Already Sparking A Hit Or Miss Debate

Discover the stunning new look of the San Jose Sharks as they unveil their bold Hometown Remix jerseys, stirring fan excitement and receiving rave reviews ahead of Monday's showdown with the Calgary Flames.

The San Jose Sharks are rolling out their new Hometown Remix uniforms Monday night against the Calgary Flames, and the look won’t be a one-off. The team will wear the alternate jerseys seven times over its remaining 31 home games at SAP Center, making them a regular part of the building through the end of the season.

The schedule stretches well beyond the debut. San Jose will bring the jerseys back later this month against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 15 and the Seattle Kraken on Nov. 21, then again on Dec. 8 against Seattle, Dec. 14 against the Vancouver Canucks, Jan. 2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Feb. 13 against the Detroit Red Wings and March 20 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Sharks describe the design as “A tribute to the pregame Sharks Head and the energy it unleashes inside the Shark Tank. The crest places the SJ mark front and center, bringing with it some serious attitude-and it’s only made bolder against the fresh Scuba Blue of the jersey itself.”

One of the most noticeable details is the teeth with pink gums around the elbows.

The price tags are just as eye-catching. An authentic version of the jersey costs $479.99, while the premium version is $229.99.

A premium version with captain Macklin Celebrini’s nameplate and No. 71 runs $279.99. A youth version is priced at $124.99.

Hats and hoodies are also being sold.

There’s also a regular home authentic pro No. 71 jersey with Celebrini’s No. 71 for $550, along with a premium jersey with numbers and letters for $249.99.

Early reactions have been mostly favorable. Sportsnet ranked the jerseys 15th, while The Athletic placed them 11th in its own ranking after getting an early look.

The Monday night game starts at 6 p.m. Pacific because it will be shown across Canada on Sportsnet+, the premium streaming service carrying NHL games on Monday nights all season.

Macklin Celebrini And Sharks Coach Arent Seeing This Slump The Same Way

The Sharks uneven start has already produced a familiar kind of postgame tension, with Ryan Warsofsky trying to sort through why a team that has shown flashes still keeps slipping back. San Jose wrapped up its four-game homestand with a 2-1 loss to Calgary, leaving the club at 7-8-1 and still searching for a steadier identity as the season settles in.

Macklin Celebrini offered a different read on the skid, framing it less as a question of commitment and more as one of energy, connection and communication between players. For a young team trying to build habits on the fly, the distinction matters, because the Sharks are not just chasing points right now. They are also trying to get everyone pulling in the same direction before the losses start hardening into something bigger. [Read more 🡒]

Sharks Give Another Young Defenseman A Chance Fans Will Watch Closely

Another young defenseman is getting a look in San Jose, as Eric Pohlkamp has been brought back into the organizations NHL conversation after a strong start with the Barracuda. Drafted by the Sharks in 2023, Pohlkamp has already built a solid rsum for a player still early in his pro career, with stops at Bemidji State and the University of Denver, where he picked up several honors before turning pro.

Pohlkamp signed a two-year entry-level deal with San Jose last April and has spent this season trying to translate that college pedigree into pro production. His offensive touch has shown up in the AHL, and with the Sharks continuing to sift through young blue-line options, this is the kind of opportunity that can quickly turn into a longer look if he makes the most of it. Sharks Slow Start Is Raising Doubts About This Rebuild

The early-season picture in San Jose has been uneven enough to invite a closer look at where this rebuild stands. The Sharks have hovered just below .500 and carry a minus-12 goal differential, a start that has left the margin for error thin and the questions growing louder around a roster still trying to find its footing.

On a recent Daily Faceoff LIVE broadcast, Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton dug into the concerns around the teams performance and the pressure on younger players to develop in a difficult environment. For a club that is still trying to turn promise into progress, the conversation underscored how quickly a rebuild can be judged when the results do not match the optimism around it. [Read more 🡒]
