Sophie Scott is leaning into a picture-perfect stretch on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, and her recent Instagram post from Positano does not exactly look like a quiet vacation. The former girlfriend of Mac Jones shared photos that show her in a blue bikini, sunglasses, and a beige sun hat during a pool day at Le Sirenuse hotel, then followed that up with shots of herself in a yellow dress at dinner with pasta and wine.
Scott, who currently lists Nashville as her base, appeared relaxed and polished throughout the post. The images came after the reported split between her and Jones, a breakup that was never publicly explained.
Jones and Scott had been together since their University of Alabama days in 2019. After the Patriots drafted him, they moved to Boston together, and the relationship continued through his time in New England and later during his 2024 stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars. They also attended events together, including the ESPYs, before things ended earlier this year.
While Scott is posting from Europe, Jones has been pulled into a very different kind of conversation. After joining the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2025 season, he put together a 5-3 record while filling in for Brock Purdy, a run that turned heads around the league.
Now his name is showing up in the wider quarterback discussion for the New York Giants. According to Tom Pelissero, Jones is among several possible options, alongside JJ McCarthy, Spencer Rattler, Justin Fields, Joe Milton, and Jimmy Garoppolo.
“Several quarterbacks have garnered trade interest around the league in recent months, including the 49ers’ Mac Jones, the Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy, and the Saints’ Spencer Rattler,” Pelissero wrote.
“Other current backups, such as the Chiefs’ Justin Fields or even Dallas’s Joe Milton (who could be signed off the practice squad), also could be options depending on how the Giants want the offense to evolve without Dart. And while free-agent options are limited, Jimmy Garoppolo is available if he decides he wants to play again.”
Jones is in the final year of a two-year deal with San Francisco and is set to become a free agent after the season.
