Mac Jones Keeps Giving 49ers Fans A Reason To Watch This Story

Mac Jones opens up about his dating life post-breakup, while rumors swirl about his future with the 49ers.

Mac Jones may not have said much about life after his breakup with Sophie Scott until now, but the 49ers quarterback was more than willing to let a little personality show on George Kittle and Claire Kittle’s “The Kittle Things” podcast on Wednesday.

The conversation turned to Jones’ dating life, and when George Kittle asked what his “biggest green flags” are in a potential partner, Jones didn’t hesitate: “I am attracted to smart, smart ladies.”

Claire Kittle followed with a more pointed question about dating deal breakers, and Jones kept it short and sharp: “Just don’t go to a seafood spot with me,” Jones quickly replied.

When George Kittle joked that Jones is “allergic to everything,” the quarterback pushed back right away. “I’m not allergic to anything, I just don’t like it.”

The appearance offered a rare peek into Jones’ personal life seven months after his split from Scott, after nearly eight years together. It also fit with the way Jones has been talked about inside the 49ers’ orbit. Kyle Juszczyk has called him a “ladies' man,” and the quarterback’s profile with single women has only seemed to rise since the breakup.

That was reinforced on the “Big Day” podcast last week, when Juszczyk said he has been flooded with messages from women hoping he’ll play matchmaker. “I get so many DMs from girls asking to be hooked up with Mac.

Usually, I’ve had multiple be like, ‘Think about it, Kristin and I could be good friends; we could be couple friends. Them and Mac, me and Kristin.

It’s unbelievable, the lengths these women have gone to get in touch with him.”

On the football side, Jones’ role has been limited with Brock Purdy playing at an impressive MVP level this season, and that has fueled trade chatter with the Nov. 10 deadline approaching. But 49ers general manager John Lynch said the team is comfortable where it stands at quarterback.

“I think back to (former 49ers coach) Bill Walsh; maybe he was on to something when he had Joe Montana, but he also brought Steve Young in here. It’s a good position to be in, a position of strength, and it provides opportunities in a number of ways,” he said on the "Murph & Markus" podcast.

“The most important way being that you’re well insulated in the event something ever were to happen. And then there also are opportunities where you receive calls, and then you make decisions accordingly. But we love our situation at quarterback.”

Jones started eight games for San Francisco last season and completed 69.6 percent of his passes for 2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.

49ers First Loss Made One Thing About This Roster Impossible To Ignore

The first loss of the 2026 season did not come with much room for comfort, even if the 49ers still sit in control of the NFC West at 6-1 heading into Week 9. San Franciscos undefeated start and six-game road winning streak both ended in Atlanta, and the defeat came with the sort of issues that tend to travel with a team until they get cleaned up: shaky ball security, a pass rush that could not create enough disruption, and a game plan that had to survive through several key injuries.

Christian McCaffrey was part of the injury storyline, briefly leaving with a thigh scare before returning, which only added to the feeling that this was one of those Sundays where everything got tested at once. The bye week now arrives at a useful time for the 49ers, giving them a chance to reset physically and sort through a loss that exposed just how thin the margin can be when the core pieces are not fully at ease. 49ers May Be Running Out Of Time With Eddy Pineiro

Eddy Pineiros season has become a problem the 49ers can no longer keep brushing aside. During the game against the Falcons, the veteran kicker missed his seventh kick of the year, another jolt to a phase of the game that San Francisco expected to be stable when it brought him in.

The 49ers have enough moving parts elsewhere without having to wonder about every field goal and extra point, and the possibility of a change is starting to feel more realistic by the week. If they do decide to move on, the free-agent market offers a few familiar names to monitor, with Graham Gano, Matt Prater and Riley Patterson among the kickers who could come into the conversation. 49ers Halloween Party Turns Viral Scandal Into A Locker Room Debate

A recent Halloween gathering around the 49ers turned into more than a costume party when the teams festivities brushed up against one of the years stranger viral stories. Daejon Love, whose arrest and federal case made headlines after authorities said he ran fake investment schemes that targeted more than two dozen women, has become a familiar name far beyond the financial-crime beat, and the topic was apparently impossible to avoid once the 49ers started putting together their looks.

At least two San Francisco players leaned into the reference, with one showing up in a jersey and another in a jail outfit, turning a serious off-field case into the kind of locker-room debate that can follow a team long after the music stops. It was a reminder that viral stories have a way of bleeding into NFL culture quickly, especially when the subject already comes with enough controversy to make a Halloween costume feel like commentary.
