George Kittle, Aiyuk's teammate, recently shed some light on the situation. On the podcast "Bussin With The Boys," Kittle shared, "I'd just go out there and talk to him because he didn't go to meetings or anything like that.
I would just talk to him like, 'Hey, I'm your guy, I love you.' I started doing that, call it Week 6.
I don't really know what week it was. And then literally a week later that story came out, like all the crazy stuff.
And then I didn't see him again."
Kittle added, "I don't know what's going on with Brandon. Like I don't know what he's thinking about, or what he's thinking. So, I really have no idea."
The question now is whether the 49ers are done with Aiyuk. General Manager John Lynch's comments suggest that Aiyuk might never play another snap for San Francisco.
However, the NFL is anything but predictable. While it seems unlikely for Aiyuk and the 49ers to reconcile, the door isn't fully closed until he lands with another team.
