Cowboys Trade Solomon Thomas to Titans for Future Draft Swap

Cowboys' defensive lineman Solomon Thomas heads to the Titans, reuniting with coach Robert Saleh in a strategic trade move involving draft picks.

The Dallas Cowboys have decided to trade defensive lineman Solomon Thomas to the Tennessee Titans, involving a seventh-round pick swap in the 2026 draft. This move reunites Thomas with Titans head coach Robert Saleh, a familiar face from their shared history with the Jets and 49ers.

Thomas, now 30, was the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Initially, he was on a four-year, $28.15 million rookie contract with the 49ers, who opted not to pick up his fifth-year option for the 2021 season. As an unrestricted free agent in 2021, Thomas took his talents to the Raiders on a one-year deal.

His journey continued with the Jets, where he signed consecutive one-year contracts in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Cowboys then added him to their roster last off-season on another one-year deal.

In the 2025 season, Thomas played in 16 games for Dallas, tallying 27 total tackles, including three tackles for loss, and one pass deflection. His move to Tennessee offers a fresh start and the opportunity to make an impact under a coach who knows his strengths well.
