Feel the intensity, folks. The Spurs have just wrapped up a critical six-game stretch at the Frost Bank Center, facing off against teams with their eyes set on the postseason. Every squad they played is poised for at least a Play-in spot, with three of them ranking among the NBA's elite.
San Antonio kicked things off with a win over the Detroit Pistons, who were in a neck-and-neck battle with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the league's fewest losses. The very next night, the Spurs showcased resilience, clawing back from a 25-point hole to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers, a team sitting eighth in the Western Conference.
The momentum didn’t stop there. The Spurs dominated the Houston Rockets, who were third in the West at the time, with a commanding 25-point victory.

Then came the Boston Celtics, also third in their conference, and like the Rockets, they fell to the Spurs' relentless play. A couple of nights later, without their star Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio faced the Denver Nuggets, fourth in the West, marking their only loss in this stretch.
But with Wemby back, they closed out the home stand by besting the Charlotte Hornets, who are clinging to the final Play-in spot in the East.
In their 115-102 victory over the Hornets, the Spurs' defense shone, holding Charlotte without a field goal for over five minutes in the fourth quarter. Head Coach Johnson reflected on the game, noting how they managed to settle in despite a frenetic third quarter. He praised their ability to organize defensively, even when not scoring, forcing Charlotte to adapt and struggle through their offensive sets.
This 5-1 run, hot on the heels of an 8-1 Rodeo Road Trip that included two ‘home’ games in Austin, brings San Antonio's record to an impressive 49-18 for the season. Johnson hopes these experiences translate into valuable lessons as they continue their championship quest.
“All these experiences are hopefully lessons that we turn into knowledge and wisdom moving forward,” Johnson remarked, eyeing the road ahead with optimism.
