The San Antonio Spurs are sending a trio of young talent to Los Angeles for NBA All-Star Weekend, as Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, and David Jones Garcia have all been selected to participate in the 2026 Castrol Rising Stars Game. It’s the fifth time in franchise history that multiple Spurs have earned spots in the Rising Stars showcase in the same season - and this year’s group might be one of the most intriguing yet.
Let’s start with Dylan Harper, the Spurs’ rookie guard who’s quietly putting together a strong debut campaign. Through 35 games, Harper is averaging 10.2 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in just 21 minutes per night - efficient production in a limited role.
What stands out is how he’s doing it without the benefit of playing alongside a marquee star. Among rookies, Harper ranks fifth in assists, sixth in steals, and tenth in scoring.
That’s not just solid - that’s impactful. And if you’re looking for a signature moment, Harper made NBA history earlier this season as the youngest guard ever to post a 20-5-5 game with zero turnovers.
For a rookie, that’s elite-level poise.
Then there’s Stephon Castle, who’s quickly becoming a cornerstone for San Antonio. The 21-year-old guard is making his second straight Rising Stars appearance after taking home MVP honors last year.
This season, Castle has taken another leap, averaging career highs across the board: 16.9 points, 7.1 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 31 minutes per game. He’s not just filling up the stat sheet - he’s doing it with purpose and consistency.
Castle recently became the fastest player in Spurs history to reach 1,500 points and 500 assists, hitting those marks in just 105 games. That’s the kind of trajectory that gets you noticed not just in Rising Stars, but in the All-Star conversation.
Rounding out the trio is 24-year-old David Jones Garcia, a two-way guard who’s been lighting it up with the Austin Spurs. In just nine regular-season games, he’s leading the G League in scoring at 26.8 points per game.
His breakout performance? A 45-point explosion against the Texas Legends - a career high and a statement game that turned heads.
Garcia will join the G League contingent in the Rising Stars tournament, and if his recent form is any indication, he’s ready to put on a show.
The Rising Stars format this year features four teams: three drafted from NBA rookies and sophomores, and one made up of G League players. The tournament tips off Friday, February 13, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, starting at 8 p.m. CT.
For the Spurs, this trio represents more than just All-Star Weekend honors - it’s a glimpse into the franchise’s future. Castle is already proving he can lead, Harper is showing flashes of brilliance, and Garcia is knocking on the door with G League dominance. San Antonio’s rebuild may still be in motion, but if this Rising Stars group is any indication, the foundation is solid and the ceiling is high.
