Stockton Kings Stunned by Oklahoma City on Ring Ceremony Night

Oklahoma City stages a dramatic comeback to spoil Stocktons ring ceremony with a 114-107 win.

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, faced a tough challenge against the Oklahoma City Blue on Sunday afternoon at Adventist Health Arena, falling 114-107. Despite the loss, the Kings showed flashes of brilliance, especially in the first half.

Leading the charge for Stockton was forward Dexter Dennis, who put on a scoring clinic with 29 points, hitting 11 of his 20 shots and connecting on four three-pointers. DaQuan Jeffries was a force as well, contributing 25 points, pulling down eight rebounds, and adding three steals and assists to his stat line. Jon Elmore also made his presence felt with 12 points and six assists, showcasing his playmaking ability.

On the other side, Oklahoma City's Zhaire Smith was pivotal, leading the Blue with 24 points and five assists. Chris Youngblood provided a strong supporting role, adding 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

The Kings started strong, controlling the first quarter with a 33-27 lead, thanks to Dennis's 13-point outburst. Stockton extended their advantage in the second quarter, with Dennis and Elmore hitting key shots, and Jeffries knocking down a crucial three-pointer, pushing the lead to 55-41. Despite a late push from the Blue, Stockton entered halftime with a solid 61-52 lead.

However, the third quarter proved to be the turning point. Oklahoma City came out firing, erasing their deficit with a 22-6 run that flipped the game in their favor.

By the end of the quarter, the Blue had outscored Stockton 40-23, taking a 92-84 lead into the fourth. Although the Kings outscored Oklahoma City in the final frame, the damage had been done, and the Blue's dominant third quarter sealed Stockton's fate.

Looking ahead, the Kings are set to return to action on Wednesday, February 25, against the Iowa Wolves at Adventist Health Arena, with an early tip-off at 11 a.m. Fans will be eager to see how Stockton bounces back from this setback.
