Despite a standout season and newfound chemistry with team veterans, Precious Achiuwa eagerly eyes a lasting future with the Sacramento Kings.

Achiuwa Shines in Sacramento: A Bright Future with the Kings

Precious Achiuwa is making waves in Sacramento, proving he's more than just a short-term asset. After the Kings' recent 116-111 victory over the Utah Jazz, Achiuwa shared insights into the team's recent success, highlighting a commitment to playing "the right way."

Achiuwa's performance against Utah was stellar, with 20 points and 11 rebounds, marking his second consecutive double-double and ninth of the season. The forward attributes this success to sticking to the game plan and playing with intensity.

The Kings' veteran presence has been pivotal. Russell Westbrook, for instance, made history by becoming the oldest player to notch a 20/10/10 game without turnovers against the Bulls. Meanwhile, DeMar DeRozan dazzled with a season-high 41 points and 11 assists, showcasing his unselfish play, much to Achiuwa's surprise.

When asked about DeRozan's standout performance, Achiuwa didn't hesitate: "11 assists, 100-percent. I've never seen him pass the ball that often."

Achiuwa's future in Sacramento looks promising. Despite signing a one-year veteran minimum deal, his post-All-Star Break performance has been remarkable. He's averaging 16.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and shooting nearly 60 percent from the field since the break.

Expressing his desire to stay, Achiuwa said, "I love Sacramento. The city’s embraced me, the team’s embraced me. I would really love to be here next season."

Kings head coach Doug Christie echoed this sentiment, praising Achiuwa's professionalism and eagerness to learn. "He's so coachable. He wants to win, he's about the team, all the right things," Christie noted.

Achiuwa's blend of talent and team-first mentality makes him a strong candidate for a long-term role with the Kings. As the season progresses, he's proving to be an integral part of Sacramento's promising future.
