DeMar DeRozan Stuns NBA Fans by Surpassing Tim Duncan's Legendary Record

DeMar DeRozan climbs another rung on the NBA's all-time scoring ladder, surpassing Tim Duncan in a high-scoring night against the Hornets.

DeMar DeRozan continues to etch his name in the annals of NBA history, solidifying his reputation as one of the game's all-time scoring greats. On Wednesday night, the Sacramento Kings veteran climbed to 18th on the NBA's all-time scoring list, surpassing the legendary Tim Duncan. Heading into the matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, DeRozan needed 30 points to overtake Duncan's spot, and he did so in style.

DeRozan, a six-time NBA All-Star, poured in 39 points against the Hornets at the Golden 1 Center. His scoring prowess was on full display, especially with a pivotal jumper late in the third quarter that sealed his climb past Duncan.

At 36, DeRozan remains a force on the court, executing his signature mid-range game to perfection. He shot an impressive 17-for-22 from the field, with all but one shot coming from inside the arc, and he was flawless from the free-throw line, hitting all five attempts.

Despite DeRozan's stellar performance, the Kings fell short, losing 117-109. Charlotte's balanced attack, with four players scoring 20 or more points and LaMelo Ball leading with 24, proved too much. The Hornets' success from beyond the arc, sinking 19 of 40 attempts, contrasted sharply with Sacramento's struggles, as they managed only 8-for-25 from deep.

This loss snapped the Kings' brief two-game winning streak, leaving them with a 16-51 record. While playoff hopes are out of reach, DeRozan's relentless scoring drive shows no signs of slowing down.

Next up, DeRozan and the Kings will face Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers in Inglewood this Saturday, where DeRozan will look to continue his scoring surge.
