PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers' Pro Day was a spectacle of athletic prowess, with 14 Scarlet Knights showcasing their talents in front of 46 scouts from NFL and CFL teams. The athletes started in the weight room before moving to the Bubble for drills like the 40-yard dash and vertical jump, demonstrating the kind of skills that could take them to the next level.
Rutgers football, under the guidance of head coach Greg Schiano, has a rich history of producing NFL talent. Schiano has seen 113 of his players make it to the league, including notable first-round picks like WR Kenny Britt, OL Anthony Davis, and DB Devin McCourty.
Britt made history as Rutgers' first-ever first-rounder, going 30th overall to the Titans. Davis, picked 11th by the 49ers, remains the highest-drafted Scarlet Knight.
McCourty, selected 27th by the Patriots, enjoyed a storied career with three Super Bowl wins.
The tradition continued in 2025 with DB Robert Longerbeam, DL Kyonte Hamilton, and RB Kyle Monangai entering the NFL Draft, marking the most selections for Rutgers since 2013. Monangai made a splash with 173 rushing yards in his first pro start, the top performance by a rookie that year. Max Melton's second-round selection by the Cardinals in 2024 was the highest since 2010, and he earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors from Sports Illustrated.
In 2022, Bo Melton joined the Seahawks and RB Isiah Pacheco was drafted by the Chiefs. Pacheco quickly became an NFL sensation, amassing 830 rushing yards and five touchdowns as a rookie, and winning Super Bowl LVII.
He followed up with another championship in 2023, becoming the first starting running back to win back-to-back Super Bowls in his first two seasons. Super Bowl LVIII featured Pacheco against fellow Rutgers alum Logan Ryan, highlighting the program's impact on the NFL's biggest stage.
By 2025, 21 Scarlet Knights coached by Schiano were active in NFL training camps. This impressive roster included names like DB Tre Avery, TE Shawn Bowman, DB Christian Braswell, and RB Isiah Pacheco, among others. Rutgers continues to be a formidable pipeline to the pros, with its players making significant contributions across the league.
