Rutgers women’s lacrosse will have a strong Scarlet Knights flavor in Saturday’s WLL Championship Game, with assistant coach Livy Rosenzweig and three-time All-American Cassidy Spilis both set to suit up for the Maryland Charm.
The title game is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Subaru Park in Philadelphia, where the Charm will meet the California Palms. ESPN will carry the matchup live.
Rosenzweig and Spilis have each been part of every Charm game this season, and both have made real impact along the way. Rosenzweig sits third in the league with 28 ground balls and has won 48 faceoffs. Spilis has chipped in seven points, scoring six goals and adding an assist, and she delivered the first overtime game-winning goal in league history in an 18-17 win over the Palms on May 29.
Spilis also earned a spot in this year’s Lexus WLL All-Star Game, which was held July 5 in Annapolis, Maryland.
For Rosenzweig, the season adds another line to a growing résumé that already includes helping Rutgers get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022. In her second year as an assistant coach, she helped guide the Scarlet Knights through one of the nation’s toughest schedules and into a 2026 finish that included the program’s most overall wins since 2022, with 11, and most Big Ten wins since 2022, with four. Working with the team’s draw specialists, she also played a role in senior captain Katie Buck’s First Team All-Big Ten and Honorable Mention All-America recognition.
Spilis closed out one of the most decorated careers in Rutgers history as the program’s all-time leader in points, goals and draw controls. She finished with 281 points, 266 goals and 313 draw controls, along with 15 assists, 149 ground balls and 102 caused turnovers in 81 career games.
The Tabernacle, New Jersey, native was a two-time conference player of the year, a four-time First Team All-Big Ten selection, a three-time IWLCA All-American and a three-time IWLCA All-Region pick. She was named an assistant coach at Stony Brook this summer after spending the previous two seasons on staff at USC.
