Rutgers football kept busy late in the transfer cycle, landing former Temple EDGE Sekou Kromah as a last-second addition ahead of the 2026 season.
Kromah is headed to Piscataway with one season of eligibility remaining after spending the past two years at Temple and his first two seasons at JUCO Monroe College in New York. At 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds, he gives Rutgers another body with size and production on the defensive front.
Even in a season cut short by injury, Kromah found a way to make an impact. He played in seven games for Temple last year and finished with 14 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
According to The Knight Report, those snaps came at both EDGE and defensive tackle. His top performance came against Oklahoma, when he posted seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one pass breakup.
Kromah missed five games last season because of shoulder and oblique injuries. 247 Sports lists him as a three-star transfer.
Before his college journey began, Kromah was a New Jersey recruit in the 2022 class. During his senior season in high school, he put up 90 tackles and nine sacks.
He joins a defensive line overhaul that already includes four other transfer additions: former Appalachian State defensive tackle Rondo Porter, Maine defensive tackle Jaedin Lee, Toledo defensive end Malachi Davis and Tulsa EDGE J’Dan Burnett. Rutgers is trying to rebuild a front that allowed 6.8 yards per rush last season and managed just seven total sacks.
