The Scarlet Knights are entering this season with momentum from a stellar 2025 campaign. They placed eighth at the NCAA Championships, secured a record six medals at the Big Ten Championships, and claimed the Island Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. Their Varsity 4 boat nearly snagged a national medal, finishing just a whisker away from the podium.
Returning talent includes CRCA Second Team All-American Lily Wood, Big Ten Freshman of the Year Beatrice Colclough, and several other decorated rowers who have represented Rutgers and their countries on the world stage.
Last year’s Doc Hosea Invitational saw Rutgers dominate, winning five grand finals against tough competition like Penn. The Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, and Varsity 4 were all named Big Ten Boats of the Week, showcasing their prowess and teamwork.
With a roster packed with international talent and a track record of success, the Scarlet Knights are poised to make another impressive run. Fans should keep an eye on standout performers like Wood, Colclough, and Saccomando, who bring both skill and leadership to the water.
As the season unfolds, Rutgers will look to build on their achievements and continue their ascent in the national rankings. The rowing community will be watching closely as they strive to capture more titles and set new records. If last season was any indication, the Scarlet Knights are ready to row their way into history.
