Katerina Hoffman Dominates 3-Meter at NCAA Zones While Teammate Shines

Katerina Hoffman's dominant performance in the 3-Meter dive secures her second consecutive zone title, as Rutgers shines at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.

In Annapolis, the Rutgers diving team continued to impress at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. Katerina Hoffman and Bailee Sturgill made waves in the 3-Meter event, with Hoffman clinching first place and Sturgill securing fourth. Both divers have now punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships.

Hoffman's performance was nothing short of stellar, racking up a combined score of 649.65. Her finals score of 316.95 sealed her victory, marking her second consecutive zone title after dominating the 1-Meter event earlier in the week.

Sturgill also shone brightly, finishing with a total score of 605.60. Her finals score of 307.95 ensured her NCAA qualification, continuing her streak of top-four finishes at the Zone Diving.

Rutgers showcased depth and talent, sending four divers to the finals. Hoffman led the prelims with an impressive 332.70, while Sturgill followed in fourth with 297.65. Gianna Lawrence and Sephora Ford also made strong showings, placing sixth and tenth, respectively.

In the finals, Ford narrowly missed NCAA qualification, finishing seventh with a total score of 596.05. Lawrence ended up 19th overall with a score of 505.30.

With Hoffman and Sturgill set to compete in at least two days of the NCAA Championships, anticipation builds for the three-meter diving event on March 20. Rutgers fans have plenty to be excited about as their divers continue to make a splash on the national stage.
