The Minnesota Vikings added two wide receivers to the practice squad Tuesday, signing Odell Beckham Jr. and Jeshaun Jones as they also opened the door for a pair of injured players to return to the field.
Along with those practice squad moves, the team designated center Michael Jurgens and tight end Ben Yurosek to return from injured reserve. Both players now have 21 days to practice before they must be activated.
Beckham, 33, entered the league as the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants in 2014. He later agreed to a five-year extension worth up to $95 million, with $65 million in total guarantees, after being set to make a base salary of $8,459,000 for the 2018 season.
His career has since taken him through a string of stops. The Giants traded Beckham to the Browns in 2019 for the No. 17 overall pick, their second third-round pick, and S Jabrill Peppers.
Cleveland reworked his contract before waiving him after the trade deadline in 2021. Beckham then signed a one-year deal with the Rams to finish that season, tore his ACL in the Super Bowl win, and missed all of 2022.
The Ravens signed him to a one-year contract before he hit free agency again and landed with the Dolphins on a one-year, $3 million deal. Miami released him in December 2024, and he later signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with a minimum salary benefit cap hit of $1.075 million with New York in June.
The Giants released Beckham last week.
In 2026, Beckham has appeared in three games for the Giants.

Rutgers Just Got Pulled Into A Bigger Big Ten Attendance Debate
Rutgers found itself part of a broader Big Ten conversation this week after college football attendance figures came under the microscope again. The Scarlet Knights homecoming crowd was one of the data points drawing attention, alongside Northwesterns stadium-opening turnout, as league programs continue to be measured not just by wins and losses but by how they fill seats and create atmosphere on game day.
The bigger backdrop is a 2026 TV picture that has cooled from the year before, with average viewership slipping and fewer marquee nonconference matchups to drive the kind of national audiences the sport has relied on. Even as the Big Ten, SEC and ACC still produce the games that command the largest numbers, the attendance and television debate keeps circling back to programs like Rutgers, where the pressure to show consistent fan interest only grows when the league is being watched so closely. Rutgers Baseball Just Got An Early Glimpse Of A Brutal Big Ten Road Ahead
Rutgers baseballs 2027 schedule arrived with an immediate reminder of how unforgiving the Big Ten can be, especially once the season turns toward league play. The Scarlet Knights will navigate 14 weekend series, including 10 against conference opponents, after a nonconference stretch that also includes Vanderbilt, VCU and a multi-team event at home.
The early league path looks especially demanding, with Rutgers set to open Big Ten play on the road in the Pacific Northwest before the calendar even settles into spring. By the time the team reaches the Big Ten Tournament on May 25 in Omaha, Nebraska, the Knights will have spent months measuring themselves against one of the countrys toughest road maps. [Read more 🡒]
Brandin Knights Early Rutgers Message Says A Lot About This Team
Rutgers took part in Big Ten Media Days with Brandin Knight, Jamichael Davis and Tariq Francis front and center, and the early message coming out of it was pretty clear: this group is leaning into a mix of familiarity and fresh faces as it gets ready for another season. Knight and his players spent time talking with media about the upcoming year, with the conversation centering on returning experience, new additions and the kind of preparation it takes to stay competitive in a crowded league.
For a program trying to establish its identity quickly, those are useful themes to hear in October. Rutgers is still in the stage where words and habits matter almost as much as results, and the first chance to see how that translates on the floor is coming soon with its exhibition against Villanova at Jersey Mikes Arena.
