Cardin Stoller Earns Coveted Spot on Prestigious Weekly Lacrosse Team

Rutgers goalie Cardin Stoller continues to impress with standout performances and top collegiate honors, solidifying his status as a key player to watch this season.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse is riding high on the stellar performance of their goalkeeper, Cardin Stoller, who has just been named to the USILA Team of the Week. Stoller's standout play against Villanova last Saturday earned him this well-deserved recognition.

Already celebrated as the Big Ten Specialist of the Week, Stoller's efforts were instrumental in the Scarlet Knights' nail-biting 8-7 victory over the Wildcats. The Owings Mills, Md. native was a wall in the net, making 14 crucial saves and allowing just a single goal over the last 42 minutes of the match.

This isn't new territory for Stoller, as he secures his third career spot on the USILA Team of the Week. Coming into this season, he was already on the radar as a Tewaaraton Award Watch List candidate, a Preseason All-American, and a Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch.

Stoller's stats through five games are nothing short of impressive. He leads the Big Ten in saves per game, ranks second in save percentage, and is third in goals-against average. With 58 saves under his belt, he's boasting a save percentage of 57.4% and a goals-against average of 8.91.

Looking ahead, Stoller and the Scarlet Knights are set to face Hofstra at home on Saturday. The game kicks off at 3 pm at SHI Stadium, marking the end of a three-game homestand on Youth Lacrosse Day. Fans will be eager to see if Stoller can continue his dominant form.
