Penn State Faces A Reset Moment After Another Brutal Big Ten Loss

After a tough losing streak, Penn State gears up to battle Purdue at home following a much-needed bye week.

Penn State’s next trip to the field is still a few days away, and the Nittany Lions will spend that time trying to stop a skid that has swallowed their Big Ten season.

After opening 2026 with three straight non-conference wins, Penn State has dropped four in a row against league opponents. The latest setback came at Michigan, even with wide receiver Chase Sowell turning in a huge day: 11 catches, 151 yards and a touchdown.

Now Matt Campbell’s team gets a breather before hosting Purdue in University Park. The Boilermakers are coming in off a 38-26 loss to Washington, and Penn State will be looking to finally break through for its first Big Ten win.

Penn State vs. Purdue is set for Saturday, Oct. 31 at Beaver Stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET.

The game will air on Big Ten Network and can also be streamed on Fubo.

Penn State’s 2026 schedule has already taken a sharp turn after the strong start. The Nittany Lions beat Marshall 45-0, Temple 27-9 and Buffalo 55-13 before the Big Ten losses piled up against Wisconsin, Northwestern, USC and Michigan. After Purdue, Penn State’s remaining slate includes Washington, Minnesota, Rutgers and Maryland.
