Steelers' Roman Wilson: A Star in the Making?
Roman Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver, has faced his fair share of challenges in his first two NFL seasons. People might call him a bust, but they don’t see the hard work he’s putting in. I back Roman because I see his dedication, and I know it’s going to pay off.
I believe in him.”
Wilson's 2025 season stats show some promise. In 13 games, he recorded 12 receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns. His rookie year was marred by injuries, limiting him to just one game.
Former head coach Mike Tomlin explained why Scotty Miller was chosen over Wilson, citing Miller's role as a backup punt returner as a key factor.
Wilson's potential began to shine in 2025. Following a Week 5 bye, he gained more opportunities, amassing 11 catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns over six weeks.
In the Week 11 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals, Wilson logged significant playing time, with 37 snaps, second only to Metcalf's 56 among Steelers receivers.
Wilson also earned praise from Aaron Rodgers, who said, “Rome’s a great kid. He’s been playing really well the last few weeks.
I’m proud of him. He’s been practicing the right way.
He’s so damn fast.”
