Steelers Linked to Trade That Leaves Cowboys and Eagles Waiting

Interest from the Cowboys and Eagles in Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen hits a snag, as insiders suggest a trade is unlikely.

The NFL rumor mill is buzzing with talk of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles eyeing a potential trade for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen. Reports from Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Jane Slater of NFL Network suggest that both teams have shown interest, with the Eagles also reaching out to Pittsburgh.

However, don't expect any immediate moves. According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers aren't keen on parting with Queen, despite some fan dissatisfaction.

Dulac points out that the Steelers value Queen highly, and they’re accustomed to fielding offers, much like they did last year with T.J. Watt.

The Cowboys' interest is understandable. They’ve got a gap at linebacker after releasing Logan Wilson, leaving DeMarvion Overshown as the only option, and his injury history raises questions. Meanwhile, the Eagles are also on the hunt for a linebacker after Nakobe Dean signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Queen may not have fully met his contract expectations, but he remains a crucial component of the Steelers' defense. Trading him would likely create a significant void in Pittsburgh’s lineup, a move that doesn’t seem to align with the team’s current strategy.
